For you Star Wars geeks (Read: Me) we call this the Princess Leia Hologram. For the rest of you, just know we’re about two ray guns and one moon colony away from teleportation.
Anderson Cooper interviewed Will.I.Am, who was in Chicago on election night, from the CNN studio in New York.

Not only the hologram of Will.I.Am, but all of the technology they used the whole night was amazing. CNN is running this news thing.
That’s fucking CRAZY!!! I wonder how much more technology is out there that is just waiting to be revealed??? I read in the Wall Street Journal that Japan has technology that they would love to introduce in North America and abroad, except that they can’t because all aspects of our infrastructure isn’t up to date and ready to handle it yet. The iphone ain’t got shit on some of the stuff that I’ve read about.
anderson – “it looks exactly like star trek when they would beam people down”
will.i.am – “yeah but–yeah…”
will just looks like he wants to scream out “IT’S STAR WARS YOU PRETENTIOUS B*STARD!!”
Holy shit. That’s insane.
i saw that when they did it with the white female reporter. shit looked dope on tv..but i would love to see it live. wolf blitzer was like it looks like ol girl is standing right here! so fresh.
dope..when they did the re-seating of the house seats was ill as well.
in the words of my future ex-wife Amanda Diva…
“If that ain’t some supa shit, I don’t know what is”
Watching fine ass Candace Parker on ESPN First Take, and reading this article got me to thinking….
How long before they apply this technology to pron and smut?
how the hell is Will.i.am the first dude they try this with? What, Tone Loc gonna be the first person they send to Mars?

sorry to kind of burst the bubble, but its not really a hologram at all. they used something like 36 high-def cameras and placed them all around a person, created a ’3D’ image, and then superimposed it against the footage the camera in the studio was capturing. so, wolf wasn’t actually looking at a hologram, he was just staring into blank space. still neat, but we’re a far ways off from producing holograms.
This fake hologram shit was a waste of money. Why would you send a reporter from NY to Chicago just to “beam” them back to the studio in NY? WTF!!!
This is way more impressive
