“Fight Music”
GENERAL By Contra™ on November 13, 2008 at 9:39 pmEvery single member of the D12 crew is as psychotic as they are talented. Except for Bizarre. His screws aren’t loose, they jingled right out his brain into his belly. He then washed it down with asbestos and shots of Henny and Mercury. I for one, never really cared much for D12 in it’s entirety. I skimmed through the first album for Proof and Em’s verses and then let the rest sit. There was entirely too much discord to digest.
However, my second favorite Em verse from that album (the first being “Revelation“) hails from this song. At some point today, “Fight Music” randomly came on and it dawned on me: Eminem is about to take the podium once again and all eyes are gravitating towards the stage.
For one second I doubted that Em still had it in him to be lyrically amorphous; capable of serving anything from a diverse platter ranging from blasphemous psychobabble, to sound social criticisms and views, while still remaining effortlessly even-keeled and comfortable in each form.
Times have changed and, surely, Mr. Mathers has also gone through some sort of growth as well. It is viable to question which Emcee will step behind the mic when this new LP rolls out. He’s no longer as disturbed as he used to be, and has clearly lost the playful jest that once made him famous as Slim Shady. Judging from the brief glimpses that have surfaced, the talent is still there though. The quality is not at question, the quantity and the fanbase’s reception to it, however, is. Will this be his Kingdom Come or will Em beat Jay-z on the comeback album front as well?
With rappers reinventing themselves into unrecognizable new beasts (Where are you, Yeezy?), sometimes one has to wonder.

Em’s new album is gunna be bomb, and Outkast, Andre 3000, and Big Boi’s album all coming out in ‘09 hopefully.
i’m still just demanding this eminem / premier track. if it doesn’t happen, there will be hell to pay!
i always liked d12, their chemistry on tracks is undeniable, and while em and proof were clearly on another level than the rest of em, the others still had talent. swifty and kuniva especially. d12 world still gets steady rotation on my ipod…
I hated D12 w/ a passion.. Em, Proof and Mr.Porter were the nucleus of the group!
off topic:
Anybody got links to Martin Lawrence - “Talkin’ Shit” or “Funk It”? ‘preciate it…
eh yo, the loosies are not the listed loosies
patriots lose. bilicheck’s still a tool.
@ Canseco:
Wanna explain to me how Belichick is a tool? I’m all ears.
i was feeling the dark D12 shit, but the next album wasn’t for me for some reason, i spent a lot of time between Em’s verses.
Denaun is a dope producer now though.
Speaking of producer: I made a Remix to Joe Budden’s ‘Send Him Our Love’ from mood muzik 3. If anyone would give me some feedback it would be appreciated. I know “everyone’s a producer now” but i’m not trying to make any money, just having fun, let me know what you think.
