It was enough to be reminded of Com & Dilla on that Hevehitta tape from a few days. But this just hit the inbox, coming off DJ Eves Laced With Gems mixtape. Although I think I like the final album version better, the lyrics on this one are vintage Lonnie Lynn.

This version is hot. Has that Can I Borrow A Dollar feel to it…
I agree I like the Retail Version but I this is Ill
pours some out for the death of the mixtape DJ… this cat can’t even juggle a simple bass drop…
agree with the above comments tho – this version is pretty dope and gives a completely different vibe to the original…
I like this one better! I had the mean mug when I listened to it!
this shit is ILL..
I like the break on this joint. Is it me or on Be did Common’s flow have more feeling when he spit on the Dilla tracks than he did on the Ye tracks?
Also am I the only one who liked Electric Circus? I think that is a dope album and one of my favs!
Nah, Electric Circus was dope.
@ Cali
Common was spit crazy on them ‘Ye tracks. Case in point : The Corner
wow
heres hoping for the full song
Electric Circus was my joint… I bumped that and Phrenology together… pretty much all of Common’s albums were on point… ahhhhh I remember boosting, Can I Borrow A Dollar on tape from the local college bookstore… liked it so much went back and boosted the cd with the old school extra long security packaging… once I graduated, I’ve purchased every album… well except Resurrection which my roommate boosted when that came out… we were still in school…ahhh the good ole’ days
you know what.. I’m going to buy Resurrection today… eh, I’ll wait to UMC comes out and buy both…
UMC december 08
