hells yeah, jimi has been the man. and band of gypsys has been that album. he’s such an enigma, i would have loved to sit down and rap with him and the rest of the band. mitch came close to upstaging jimi on quite a few of the tracks from the album. the jimi hendrix experience is arguably one of the most influential sounds in rock and roll to date. i’ve seen some of his interviews and i always get the impression that jimi was so complex in his simplicity.

j-zone’s funny dude. If you want really influential rock n roll you gotta holla at Ike Turner. for real, the stuff he did in the 50s was rock n roll before buddy holly and all them. (rock n roll is an old blues term for sex and rowdiness. in the 1930s Big Momma Thorton use to sing about “rockin’ and rollin’” her man all night long.)
