One of those vintage gems my pops taught me was to ignore ignorance to avoid being “brought down” to another’s level. I ended up getting this as one of those forwarded messages (I hate forwarded messages, especially e-chain letters & religious notes) with the title “Yet another reason to vote for Obama” and it gave me a chuckle.
It also put into perspective for me that perhaps people are using the wrong logic for determining who they will be voting for.
I’m not voting along racial lines. If I were a woman, I would try not to allow gender to have a bearing on who I think would serve our country best. Is it hard to filter out those factors? Yes. Very hard in fact because prior knowledge & our experiences determine how we deal with situations.
To combat those assertions, I’ve tried be informed so when someone says “Oh you only voted for Barack because he’s Black,” I can reply with a swift “No, I voted for him because of his stance on health care (mandatory coverage for all kids), education and his 10% tax credit on mortages seems more sensible than his opponent’s arbitrary system of helping “legitimate borrowers.” (I actually disagree with Obama’s stance on gun control but hey you can’t agree on everything.)
But hey, I’m one man, one vote…and one set of opinions.

I use to be on the fence about the 9/11 controlled demolition theory… But after thinking it over sleepless nights I came to the conclusion that the Loose Change movies is correct. Not to mention countless number of Physics professors across the country who are being fired from D1 universities for speaking out about the 9/11 cover up…. The whole thing was a fucking controlled demolition… Now if your ignorant enough to believe that the laws of physics can be broken and that buildings can be “collapse” down at free fall speed, steel support columns can be cut every 10-15 feet at 45 degree angles and every witness says bombs were being heard every 5 minutes…. and somehow this was accomplished by a few arabs with box cutters you need to have your fucking head examined. Building 7 (which happened to be under the same insurance policy) wasn’t hit by any planes and fell into it’s own footprint in perfect collapse…. It’s illegal to show video footage of the buildings collapsing because it’s too painful for the american public…I call BS….
Not to mention the Twin Towers were going to have to be renovated due to asbestos laiden walls and ceilings which was going to cost more then the original cost to construct the building… These guys killed more than a few birds with one stone (or plane)……

I spoke in another thread a few days ago on the 45% of the popular vote who will vote for McCain (or who won’t vote for Obama) and I will say it again…people are voting for McCain for 3 reasons….
1.) they are already rich dont want to pay higher taxes (or they want them lowered even further) and they dont give a flying fuck about anyone but their own class…theres a term for them im not sure what it is but the definition is not someone who cares about political issues, instead only cares about their bottom line
2.) they are racist or have a problem with a non-military person being president (funny thing about the Bushes)
3.) their religious views keep them very narrow-minded and ignorant…i really touched some nerves on it when i elaborated last time but im telling you this is the big one…red necks (whether they be poor ones in trailer homes or oil tycoons like Bush) are already racially disposed but their religious traditions keep them narrow minded and do not let them be progressive…a.k.a. they are too uneducated to make their own decisions and instead believe that some cunt like Sarah Palin knows whats best for our country (like taking over an Alaskan hospital, outing the staff, replacing them with her neighbors and friends and banning abortion)

I remember Kerry and Gore getting just about the same amount of support from Black America as Obama. So while its totally understandable that Black people be excited over a Black candidate, race seems come secondary to the issues. Obama has probaably awakened more Black youths to politics than a White candidate probably would, so he does bring in a new voter, as would Hillary with young women.
My question is: If Colin Powell was running for president (As a Rep.) against a John Edwards for instance, would he be getting the same type of support from Black America?

I’m dissapointed that none of the intelligent individuals here are even broaching the topic of independent political parties. Why the fuck should we vote for either of these two candidates? Let’s start with McCain. Ok, he’s a Republican, so we know that means his social policies are backwards and he favors the rich, is pro-choice, has corporate america backing him up, so on and so forth. And this makes him differrent from Obama how exactly? Republicans and Democrats belong to the same fraternity, hence I call them Republocrats. As long as we’re stuck in a two party system, this country will only continue to go downhill, get worse by the year, and there will never be any real change brought to the people. Where is the legitimate third party candidate? The candidate who is for the working-class people, who champions the poor and isn’t being guided by corporate interest? That candidate is Ralph Nader, who unfortunately can’t even participate in a debate due to the corporate-controlled electoral system, let alone have a real chance to win because corporate media won’t give his candidacy any light. Hell, Bill Maher offered to host a debate on his show with Nader, Obama, and McCain, which the Republocrat candidates declined because they know Nader will make them look bad and expose them for the corporate rats that they are. Fuck McCain and Fuck Obama. We’re dealing with some real Oceania, 1984 shit right here in front of us. The Republicans and Democrats are the “Inner Party” so to speak and control all this shit. In a country of 300 million people with countless leaders and activists and organizers and brilliant minds we’re reduced to yet another November of voting for the lesser of two evils. Why does it have to come to this? With McCain, you get a scumbag “hero” whose myth is built on half-truths, is a warhawk, has a terrible temper (imagine him with the red phone), and will be a continuation of Bush foreign policy.
Ah-Ha!! But with Obama you get a dude who can definitely write/read terrific speeches, I’ll give him his due as an orator, if this was intro to speech communications he’d be the professor. But this isn’t a rap battle, this isn’t a debate, it’s about who’s going to do good by the people for the people. And at the end of the day, Obama will be giving this country “business as usual” fucking us over and moving us closer to a New World Order, he’ll just be doing it with a non-white face and lots of nice speeches. Gee, thanks for moving this world closer to a living replica of 1984, at least the words sounded nice coming out of your mouth Obama.
Did I mention both of these candidates are flat-out jokes, embarrasments to the political process? They both supported the predatory form of capitalism that is at the root of this current economic crisis. People make me laugh when they defend Obama’s healthcare plan, he keeps on saying the word “affordable” when discussing healthcare- shit should not be affordable, it should be free. Your health should not be dictated by your income, but Obama, like McCain, supports a profit-driven healthcare system. Fuck the both of them clowns. They both tout the virtues of their leadership and how they’re not like Bush, but I have yet to see either of these clowns even try to hold the Bush accountable for the lies of his regime and the outright war crimes and human rights violations that have occurred by pressing forward with impeachment hearings. They tried to impeach Bill Clinton over a blow job, yet neither of these “leaders” nor any of the other pricks in Congress even broached impeachment or moved the hearings in motion. Check their voting records, these 2 are just yes men who have supported a broken and corrupt system. They both are for the advancement of NAFTA and WTO as well as other “free-trade” forms of globalization that only hurt the poor and working-class people while lining the pockets of the rich. They both voted in support of the Bailout that rewards these fat cat Wall Street execs for crummy decision making. Contrary to what either man says, they both favor the corporations over the people. If you don’t believe me, just look at the list of donors to their respective campaigns and follow the money trail. We’re essentially voting for corporations here, not people. They both have called for expanded wars and the use of pre-emptive force and the Military in countries like Iran, Pakistan, and possibly Russia. They’re more worried about Georgia in Europe than Georgia here. Read up on the people they have advising them on foreign affairs, the economy, etc etc and all you’ll see is more of the same. Watch, either of these individuals continue in the Bush-model of ruling by fear and further suspending civil liberties in the interest of “homeland security.” It disgusts me to watch them pander to Israel’s Militiant Right-Wing which in turn dictates our Middle East policy and makes us an enemy of many of those nations. We constantly turn a cheek to the atrocities committed by Israel, and the next administration, no matter who it is, will do it as well.
McCain has selected a doofus as his VP candidate, Obama has selected the man who is responsible for writing the laws that created the DEA “drug czar” and the legislation that is the War On Drugs. The high rate of incarceration for non-violent drug offenders (and the racial disparity in enforcement of said laws) is all on Joe Biden, who was essentially one of the architects of the war on drugs, which has cost us money, and people.
My point is, fuck both of these candidates. I’m tired of being forced to pick between the lesser of two evils. Between identical twins. Anyone who thinks Obama is an agent for change is sipping on the kool-aid, no disrespect intended. Change won’t come until we overthrow the corporate-dominated election process, the corporate media, and give independent parties a chance to compete. Change will not come from the Republocrat party. This election only re-affirms, no matter whom is elected, that this country is going down the tubes. Get your passports ready people and start getting that list of new countries to live in ready.

One last point I want to make about Obama: He was THISCLOSE to not even being a US Senator. When he ran for Senator here in Illinois, his original opponent was Republican Jim Ryan. Unfortunately for Jim, word leaked about a sex-scandal involving him, his wife, and his liking to bring her to sex/swinger parties in NYC. The media had a field day with that and he quit the race in July, a few months before the November election. The Illinois GOP was scrambling for a candidate, eventually courting Mike Ditka (Da Coach), Hall of Fame Tight End for the Cowboys and former coach of the Chicago Bears. For those of you who are unaware, to this day, Ditka carries major weight in the city of Chicago. I would argue to top-5 Chicago icons, in order, at the moment, are Mayor Daley, than Oprah, than MJ, than Ditka, than Kanye. He has some serious juice. He’s also self-described as “extremely conservative.” And he was on the verge of accepting the nomination but decided not to, citing age, time, committment to the job etc etc. So instead, the Illinois GOP helped Alan Keyes buy a house in Chicago, fulfilling the residency requirements, and allowing him to run against Obama. Of course, he got blown out and lost to Obama because he’s Alan Keyes, but my point is Ditka, quite probably would have won the election, denying Obama the Senate position he has at the moment and the neccessary national “credibility” needed to wage a presedential campaign. Marinate on that for a minute. Obama was THISCLOSE to having to face Ditka, and he almost assuredly would have lost the election in my opinion. And now I’m supposed to believe a guy who couldn’t beat Da Coach is supposed to lead this country out of the depths it has fallen to? Pleeeeeeeeeease. Again, I reiterate, the US political process is one really bad joke.

The only explanation for buildings falling at near free fall speed in perfect uniform collapse is a controlled demolition there is no other event that could cause this type of collapse…. The only thing I can say without any doubt is that when watching a collapse of the Towers but more Building 7 that the collapse looks like a seperate event not exactly connected to the fireball inferno of the plane hitting and is almost Identical to any video of a controlled demolition minus the detonator charges that are usually heard…..
