When Trick invited me back to Studio 1 for a follow up to our Smoking Session, I heard this track and thought, “As dope as this track is, there is no way this will ever touch the radio.”
Undoubtedly, Clear Channel probably won’t touch this with a proverbial ten foot pole. I suppose there’s always Shade45 though, right?

is that Trick Trick on the left? LOL
the fuck does that nicka got on?
peep his zip-up fur…LOL
his dead animal coat has a fucking zipper
oh lord…that’s quite “baller”…Harold Pener “Baller”
“The Mayors Of Detroit” = Yung Berg’s Autobot Chain
& is that Kwame Kilpatrick, “The Hip-Hop Mayor” of Detroit on the right?
are they at some Player’s Ball or something?
what you don’t see in this pic is the fishtank platforms one of these nickas got on
Teef – Furs can’t have zippers?
I’ll need someone else to confirm such b/c if that’s faux pas it’s a new one to me.
i mean, it’s a big-ass black plastic zipper….shouldn’t it at least be inconspicuous or discreetly tucked away? cuz then it comes off looking like some sorta Fisher-Price My First Fur Coat ™
but yeah….the track? like Eskay alluded to, i think Trick Trick maybe coerced Marshall into spitting a verse for this little track that’s just like Evidence from Dilated….subpar
mark my words:
this Trick Trick character is the new Benzino of Detroit
Lol, I couldn’t even see the pic. That’s why I asked. “The fuck it’s supposed to have? Velcro?” I see it now.
Trick gooned Em into a verse lol.
I still fuck w/that other track they did tho. “Welcome To Detroit” I think.
Em himself has said that he’s not interested in attaining the level of success that he’s achieved in the past…
which I take to mean…
he’s more interested in indulging his creative & artistic side, rather than worrying about business…
whereas…
someone like Trick Trick is all about business.
instead of Em doing favors for subpar street moguls turned wanna-be rappers, he should be doing shit with dudes like Elzhi & Royce
when you got dudes like Trick Trick who endorse shit like slapping around punks like Yung Berg for chintzy chains…and their street “networking” skills far outweigh their mic skills…that just reeks of some Suge Knight/Benzino shit….
some dudes just need to stay in the background
buttons on a fur > zipper on a fur.
that coat is horrendous.
aight, aight….
i just now listened to/watched that “Let’s Work” video…
it’s kinda motivational/inspirational
i had a TT album once. it was about 38 songs… 20 were garbage. about 8 were mediocre, but 10 were pretty strong. dude’s not bad… not great, but not bad–think P Miller of the D. with better mic skills.
not sure who’s more embarrassed by this pic–trick or (kilpa)trick.
Say what u want about Tricks mic skills now…but his album is really gonna surpise people. some GREAT concept songs on there. really nice album. plus…one of the best producers in Detroit. period. and a good real good dude to boot. street mogul or not…every rapper in the D will vouch for Trick. elzhi records in his studio. royce is on his album.
Kilpatrick is an idiot
it was nice knowing you, teeph.
*changes IP & e-mail address*
*throws laptop into Rappahannock River*
*moves overseas*
*adds Chicago AND Detroit to list of places NOT to highside in*
on 2nd thought….I hang out in DC a bit, so I should be fine if I visit, right? lol
on a more serious note, like Boogie Tonight mentioned, keep Jennifer Hudson & her nephew in your prayers….what happened to her mother & brother is tragic…pray for her 7-year-old nephew’s safe return, as it appears he might’ve been kidnapped by the murderer(s)
Yea I expect this second album to be better than his first.
Damn that’s a weird looking coat. Maybe it’s just the angle of the pic, tho. It seems like we could be seeing the strangest parts of the coat only, all at once. . . . Too much coat analysis going on anyway…
that’s pretty effed up what happend to Jennifer Hudson’s family.
who’s da dude with trick trick on da pic
thats the old ex mayor of the d, patrick k-soemthing or other. the one that got caught sending texts to his old employee who he was beatin’ ont he side.
