Barring some sort of major fiasco, the big game-changing moments are over.

Last night was McCain’s final attempt to gain ground against Obama. McCain reacted by waging his most personal and aggressive set of attacks. He brought up Ayers, ACORN and delivered his “you should have run four years ago” soundbite, while seemingly making Joe the Plumber his new running mate. Barack handled each with the same informative and unflustered responses, maintaining his presidential look the whole time. Obama, though, played it safe. To use a football analogy, he kept utilizing conservative run plays with a 10 point lead instead of taking a shot to the end zone. Nevertheless, overnight polls seem to indicate that Barack Obama has won and he should hold on for the next nineteen days.

Now we review a few of policies we aren’t clear on. We reflect on these debates. And then we head to the polls on November 4. Win, lose or recount, Barack Obama can smile, hug his wife and know that he did the best he could to change our country. We’ll see in only nineteen days.
