I’m not one for watching TV shows on a weekly basis. I have a shitty memory so I tend to forget what happens from week to week and my schedule is so erratic that I’m bound to miss an episode or two. Instead, I opt to wait till a particular season of a show is over and cop the DVD to watch it all at once on my own schedule. I did this with Heroes Season 1 and became a fan of the show. I wanted to continue this technique once Season 2 hit the stands earlier this summer…but seeing as how it’s a recession and errbody broke © Jeezy, I had to miss out on Season 2.

Fortunately, the strike-shortened season meant that I didn’t miss that much. The one hour special at the beginning of the Season 3 premiere last night also went a long way to helping people catch on to the most recent events. The premiere was non-stop action with crazy twists and turns that introduce a set of villains that guarantee the show will be full of special effects.

But I know how the TSS fam thinks, so I’m gonna give you two reasons why this is a must-see show:

1. Marlo is in it

No, not the actor, Jamie Hector. Marlo, fam. It’s the same brooding, quiet bad-ass from West Balitmore, but now he has super powers. It’s almost worth the two hours just to see dude rip the head off of one of the main characters.

2. Dania Ramirez

For the first ten minutes of the show, I was still skeptical about if Heroes was still worth my time. I was flipping back and forth from Monday Night Raw and MNF until this heroic dime from the Dominican Republic hit the screen rockin’ a tank top and some boy shorts. At that moment, a brotha was hooked. I threw my remote out the window and was locked in for the whole two hours.

As you can see, the TSS demographic is well represented in Season 3 of Heroes. I recommend checking out the first couple of episodes. Even though the scheduling conflicts with football, I’m sure you typers out there can catch episodes on the net throughout the week.
