Recognize this face?
If you’re a loyal TSSer… you should.
With new television and football officially underway, we here at The Smoking Section are kicking the Fall off right as well with a new milestone passed. And we were still at it this week, fresh as Day 1…
What better way to start a Fall line-up than with the annual disaster known as MTV’s VMAs. Mundy blogged live on Twitter, but it was his recap that had us rolling. A follow-through list of Blender’s blunders and the Mundster set us up for a week of hilarity.
The only person to have a funnier week than Mundtronic was [...dddddrum roll...] Kanye. Hotly debated performances in Los Angeles. Jet-setting back to NYC for a surprise performance with G.O.O.D., and then beam-me-up-Scotty back to LAX for a surprise dual performance in County and online. Oh, and a pisswilly balloon deflated over autotune.
Speaking of jail… it was a weird week for violence. Some misguided fool with a hammer reminded us sometimes we SHOULD step in and help. David reminded us sometimes the WWF IS real. Gotty reminded us the beautiful city of Chicago has some work to do. But Gotty also reminded us that despite how far we have to go, we have come a long way.
And we kept it moving with music…
–We got you that Big Boi proper.
–We shed the pink, but kept the C. Ham.
–Freeway came back.
–Everybody got a joint with Lil Wayne… right, Scarface?
–More from Bankhead‘s two sides.
–Tay and Nic are Foreign Exchange, and better than most.
–Estelle’s Teef > Estelle
–Two of my boyfriends (read: Common and Pharrell) brought the Maximus.
–Did anyone else forget about Jadakiss?
–Aside from Bert and Ernie, I ALMOST forgot about M.O.P.
–Q-Tip showed up a couple of times.
–…but nothing from the Re-Up Gang.
Oh, and did we ever get our reviews out…
–V.I.C.
–Elzhi
–Kardinal Offishall
–Young Jeezy
–Non-C3 Weezy
–VH1 > MTV and BET
–Nas revisited
Though I personally spent the week boiling over with distaste for Sarah Palin… Miss Jada snapped me back to what I should really have been thinking on this week.
Here’s to another bang-up week, and to the forthcoming one. Oh… and don’t forget to Digg us, because we dig you and Respect Your Fresh.

Blaq Poet, street album called ‘”Tha Blaqprint”‘ is déjà finished and coming soon with 8 new joints produced by DJ Premier !!. “The Best That Never Did It” his somophore album after ‘Deja Screw’ is on work. Poet iz in studio… so for 2009 probably.
I caught True Blood last week… I’ll give it my “3 episode” rule before I quit it. I’m hoping the first episode was all they needed for the set up.
Entourage is sitll that show to watch though.
am i the only one who’s never seen Entourage? I think i saw one episode or parts of an eps actually.
Entourage is my favorite show. It’s a huge part of HBO’s original “triple threat” IMO.
That show is the common man’s weekly escape into the Hollywood lifestyle.
I stan that shit. Box sets and all.
Yeah entourage is that show…..Im surprised you didnt watch it Gotty….Saigon got his thing going on the show…Lauren London…….THEY EVEN PLAYED DILLA’S Wont Do!!!!!
Cmon mayne……
True Blood was wack… That whole episode was one big “I get it–Vampires are oppressed like Black folks and INSERT BELITTLED ETHNIC GROUP HERE.”
it’s boring, too. once you get past the “we’re a marginalized group” it’s like what’s left? The goofy white girls that wanna bone vampires but don’t wanna bring ‘em home for sunday dinner with mom?
wake me when this one’s canceled.
Gotty
Entourage is hit or miss. You gotta really like hollywood/industry-as-a-character kinda stories. It’s every movie that’s set in NYC–the good ones do more than beat you over the head with the “city is a character” crap. The bad ones just look like a bunch of NYC-lovers said, “let’s make a movie in new york!”
Entourage is sorta like that, just with hollywood.
I get it–your boy’s sorta famous, you’re part of his crew and the town is filled with phony, self-indulgent a-holes.
Now that we’ve cleared that up tell me an actual story.
Dizzam LC…now Im really jealous of you. Thats major L.
Gotty ain’t a fan of TV lol. I get that feeling the TV is watching me & can never sit there long enough, unless the shit is captivating.
Sounds like Entourage ain’t for me though. Like i said, the one partial ep I saw didn’t really do it for me. I watched to see how the story finished but it was “grueling” to say the least lol.
you’re not alone, Gotty
I watched the clip of the episode w/ Kanye to hear “Good Life”.
Seeing a bunch of entitled wanting to be famous types just didn’t register, ESPECIALLY when The Wire was on. Now, I think it’s too late for me. Maybe down the line in syndication… Enh.
I like to see how the other half lives. I guess I’m just in to that “celebrity” shit though.
Anybody got Terrance Howard’s album, snippet, sample, anything really???
I started watching Entourage when it first came on…only got a few eps. deep before I lost interest. This new redneck vampire joint doesn’t seem like my flava. I recently ‘discovered’ Curb Your Enthusiasm, shits pretty funny.
WHATS GOOD WITH USC FOLK????? WHO’S GONNA WATCH THE BEATDOWN??????
@ Tres
Curb is a damn good show too. Folks was wondering what Vivica Fox was doing in between movies.
If someone can find/have a link to dl or to watch
the LL Cool J whole MTV Unplugged Concert
(back in the dayz) …thx in ad. Tss Global !!!! yeah,
peace yall.
^^You talkin’ about the one where you could see chunks of deodorant under his arms? I
gotty….if you havent seen entourage, step your netflix game up and rent the first couple of seasons. jeremy piven alone is enough of a reason to watch
^Yeah that was pretty gross

im watchin some game last week and see Erin Andrews come on reporting from the sideline….she went to high school with me, graduated a yr ahead of me, always wanted to do something on tv….
it was pretty weird seein her on tv.
Neflix?? Are you suggesting he…PAY??? You are offending the Rapidshare god.
damn, i just read up on her…i didnt realize she has been doin the shit since 2004, shows how much i pay attention to the sideline reporters…she was also voted playboys sexiest sportscaster…which is really crazy cuz she was neva all that good looking. she sure seems to have alotta guys jockin her tho.
Damn E, she pretty fuckin hot. She does suffer from noassatall though
http://redstatebluestate.mlblogs.com/erin.andrews.jpg
Erin Andrews is aight. Alot of people go gaga over any skinny blond braud.
They never show Pam Oliver from behind during the football games, but she looks like she got a bangin’ booty.
Erin Andrews is hella gorgeous.
yo tres, Pam Oliver do got a booty.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMd9irbA25w
Another announcer chick that be lookin good is Lisa Salters
YES..I knew Pam had it goin on! Good looks on that vid, I been wondering how she look like from that angle for years..
There’s a new sista on Sports Center thats pretty cute too, but I only seen her a few times. Colleen Dominguez is fly as well
this game is so fuckin boring.
Wit E must be a OSU fan!!!!
A lot of blowouts this weekend. *yawns*. USC is looking unstoppable though.
