With new television and football officially underway, we here at The Smoking Section are kicking the Fall off right as well with a new milestone passed. And we were still at it this week, fresh as Day 1…

What better way to start a Fall line-up than with the annual disaster known as MTV’s VMAs. Mundy blogged live on Twitter, but it was his recap that had us rolling. A follow-through list of Blender’s blunders and the Mundster set us up for a week of hilarity.

The only person to have a funnier week than Mundtronic was [...dddddrum roll...] Kanye. Hotly debated performances in Los Angeles. Jet-setting back to NYC for a surprise performance with G.O.O.D., and then beam-me-up-Scotty back to LAX for a surprise dual performance in County and online. Oh, and a pisswilly balloon deflated over autotune.

Speaking of jail… it was a weird week for violence. Some misguided fool with a hammer reminded us sometimes we SHOULD step in and help. David reminded us sometimes the WWF IS real. Gotty reminded us the beautiful city of Chicago has some work to do. But Gotty also reminded us that despite how far we have to go, we have come a long way.

And we kept it moving with music…

–We shed the pink, but kept the C. Ham.
–Freeway came back.
–Everybody got a joint with Lil Wayne… right, Scarface?
–More from Bankhead‘s two sides.
–Tay and Nic are Foreign Exchange, and better than most.

–Two of my boyfriends (read: Common and Pharrell) brought the Maximus.
–Did anyone else forget about Jadakiss?
–Aside from Bert and Ernie, I ALMOST forgot about M.O.P.
–Q-Tip showed up a couple of times.
–…but nothing from the Re-Up Gang.

Though I personally spent the week boiling over with distaste for Sarah Palin… Miss Jada snapped me back to what I should really have been thinking on this week.
