After ten years of supplying a daily concentrated dose of poison via subpar pop music countdowns, corny interviews and gossip galore, TRL is finally taking an indefinite hiatus.
I can’t say I’ve watched TRL in the past half decade, but I can guarantee you that my interest in the show has never risen beyond a negligible level. My bile and spite towards it has yet to subside.
As far as Hip-Hop goes, the only thing we owe TRL (to a degree) is Eminem, who had this to say upon learning that the show was about to hang up it’s gloves.
“I’m going to miss `TRL.’ … Where else will I be able to start feuds, defend my honor vigorously and act like an angry teenager on national TV? Oh wait … The VMAs!”
Ah, yes. The VMAs. That, or BET & it’s innumerable new Award Shows. Either way, let’s pray some benevolent demon possesses whoever runs Viacom (which owns both BET & MTV) and makes them terminate both channels, put their profits into something beneficial to the urchins and then proceed to take a long walk off a short plank atop a very high building.
Just like TRL is about to do.
Rest In Peace.

meh
i didnt think people still watch mtv and bet.
So VMAs are a wrap since MTV really don’t show videos
BBET !
it still comes on???? wow
I’m not gonna front, when hip hop took up like 5 of the ten videos, I watched that ish faithfully… Now that I remember, that was actually MTV Jams. Cheah.
Man, I saw one episode of that and as soon as you get into the songs that they are playing…some teenage girl gets on and screams shoutouts to the other fourteen year old girls sitting beside of her in the audience…Like who really gives a fuck about some little Brittany Spears/ Miley Cirus wannabes? Get back to the MUSIC…MUSIC TELEVISION…
goodbye to my high school after school years!
