So…Sandman is apparently leaving Re-Up Gang.

Am I the only one who’s not surprised at all?

I half expected it to happen sooner upon realizing how “established” San was, solo. After he missed a couple of pivotal promo appearances for that disgustingly underwhelming album (eugh © Pusha), it became clear that Sandman had both feet outside the door and was strutting out faster than anyone cared to notice. You could almost hear that door slam behind him when he chose to promote his mixtape instead of the album.

“When you have a movement like the Re-Up Gang, something that came out of nowhere that was turned into a cult following, I just don’t see how people dropped the ball on the last project. So it didn’t make sense for me to stick around if shit ain’t in my best interest.”

In that spirit, he has a 3-peat of mixtapes, the first of which, Gianormous has already been released. The other two – Heart of the City and Moonwalkerz – will be released in the near future.

I wonder what Ab-liva is doing these days.
