Let me be the first to say that this whole notion of a “T-Wayne” makes me nauseous.
Anyhow Teddy Bend-her-arse-down apparently had a new single that I have been completely oblivious to, as I do not listen to radio with the exception of NPR and satellite.
The video is commendably well done and I must applaud Mr. Pain for not putting out some second rate BS video.
It turns out even the whizzes that made a T-Pain song watchable were unable to make Lil’ Wayne’s lyrics intelligible.
Oh well.

After watching this video my conjecture has now become fact: The whole idea behind T-Pain’s top-hat is that he has an unfufilled childhood dream to become a circus ringmaster!!! Maybe he could start his own hood-version of Cirque De Soleil, complete with thick-ass strippers doubling as contortionists and acrobats!!!

Agreed with Gotty – everyone loves to hate on these guys, but you can’t tell me that rapping and singing love songs with vocoders in nightmarish circus videos ain’t at least a little bit original. This song’s pretty decent, the video’s nuts, and these two are just further establishing themselves as the head nutters in charge of hip-hop and pop’s asylum.
I truly believe that part of what people don’t get about Wayne is that he’s an entire new species of hip-hop star – he’s fucking crazy, he’s on drugs all the time, he barely makes sense, and all he wants to do is drink syrup, make songs, and hum into vocoders. And he sold 1.05 million in his first week! I think it’s heartening, as far as hip-hop goes – that a dude this weird is one of the biggest pop artists in the world.

Keith Richards and Amy Winehouse work great. Every genre has its crazy, drug-addled, creative as fuck (usually some problems with quality control though…) artists, and Lil’ Wayne is hip-hop’s preeminent example.
Lil’ Wayne is like an avant-garde punk rock hip-hop artist who will probably flame out, in grand fashion, sooner rather than later. I’m just enjoying his music while it lasts…
