The ones who have, well, you’d assume they’d be notable, right? Why else would they keep that relentless grind up? The money? Not these days.
If you’re Andre Nickatina, you do it because you can.
Through his monotonous vocal tone, almost equivalent to a politician, the artist formally known as Dre Dog has spit his cocaine raps and Bay-Area braggadocio longer than some of these new acts have been alive. No need for Regis, though, diversity is Andre’s lifeline. Even though the San Fran staple has never achieved mainstream success, his talent is evident in the form of assorted flows and the ability to tackle an array of topics over any type of beat (evidence below).
Nickatina may not be a legend. But, once you’ve heard him tell a tale, you’ll want to make room on your hard drive.

I just got an email from Khayree the other day. He said he just re did his whole studio.
he’s got a dope podcast series up, a Young Black Brothra one that features most of his new stuff and then Khayree music which is more like a radio show.

Ayo for Yayo was my crew’s anthem in high school. And only 1 or 2 dudes actually messed with yay at the time.
We actually drove down to portland for a concert and dude arrived like 5 hours late to the show and they were pullng people out of the crowd to come up and rock the mic while we all waited.

I DLed that Snoop demo, and its only 6 songs. Three I’d heard before (county blues, 187 (it’s on) and Let’ em Understand), two I hadn’t (The message and Do You Remember, which is over Me MySelf and I).
The last song on there was True To The Game, which I did post about not too long ago. Call me steve glass, but I’d been under the impression it was done around 95 on Westwood.
