‘98 Notable Quotable - Big Pun From “Terror Squadians”
ARTIST WEEKS By TC on August 9, 2008 at 11:26 am“Your style is unoffic’
Niggaz like you stay on my wanted list
Pun and Prince, we walkin’ on kings, like a son of a bitch
Fuckin’ with this is hazardous to amateur battlers
Average niggas get lost in the course of embarrassment
Of course you don’t have a chance, I’m the boss in your eminence
Get tossed in the ambulance with the force of an avalanche
I’ll torture your fragile ass with rhetorical paragraphs
For all of you that’ll laugh at a historical aftermath
I come equipped, my tongue and lips are like a hundred clips
Look behind you, I’ll blind you like when the sun eclipse
Ain’t no second chances, I glance at niggas, make em’ wet they pants-es
Chances are slim if Twinz done swing the rest of the ransom
The best and the champion, that means I’m far beyond
Dionne read my palm, told me to get on and put my army on
Come along, follow the Don, my motto and song
Is for tomorrow, cause today’s almost already gone
Let’s get on, split your belly with the machete long
Tear your arms of your shoulders, and tell ya to— hold on!
I know it’s wrong, but it feels so right
I used to bust steel all night, but now I gotta deal
Alright!
Big Pun from Fat Joe’s “Terror Squadians” off the album Don Cartagena
Who doesn’t miss Pun’s sadistic humor on the tracks he laced? Tear your arms of your shoulders and tell you to hold on!!?!? You can almost picture him doing it, cracking jokes while some sorry sucker bleeds to death. And try to follow along with his rhyming rampage. Yeah the vocals were punched but the end product can’t be denied. While the entire TS gave this joint the business, Punisher punished it, proving he was indeed the crew’s biggest star.

FIDIRST! Get ‘em Pun!
this reminds me of another pun lin…clapped em in da crapper while he wuz takin a caki
rappers who use punch-ins generally get less props from me…
with the exception of Pun. He’s the ONLY ONE who got a pass for that shit.
If you have to use punch-ins, then you prolly can’t perform well solo and need a crew on stage to assist
the big punisher !
Had me wanting to have a little Spanish in my blood for a minute there…
Hey TC I was wondering if you still have this laying around?
TC Says:
EXCELLENT POST! U know I gotta add my 2 Cents though so…

TC it’s your own remixes ????
How can the motherfucker call himself fat joe
when he came up under pun?
i dont think ive ever seen anyone as big as him
smh… He didn’t come up under Pun. Pun was Joe’s prodigy, but he just had more charisma and talent than his Obi Wan did. Fat Joe goes back a minute. His first song was a promo or something like that on the radio. I think it was called Flow Joe and it was produced by DJ Premier. I’ve heard Flex spin it, but never found a copy of it. Fat Joe is a member of D.I.T.C, too.
yeah, fat joe is a legend, respect his hustle
represent, don cartagena, jealous onesenvy, d.i.t.c, big pun, terror squad, whassup… thats enough to respect him i think. BX legendary Bronx. yes i’m from NY, NY… and this is how we do !
true, Fat Joe used to do a few radio promos but “Flow Joe” was produced by Diamond D…
@ Tru School
Nah man. I don’t even remember what I threw in there. Spur of the moment but it was a lot lol. Anything in particular you looking for?
hmmm…3rd verse from Dream Shatterer
first time i heard it, i got goosebumps…
Better watch yo’ ass ‘fore I pull the choppers out the stash
and helicopter yo’ ass, about a block and a half
R.I.P. PUN
Just that GIve It To You Remix I guess. I never knew there was one.
That Da Brat right TC?
That Pun verse from Triplets was the best thing from that Don Cartagena album though, and that Baby Paul beat was bonkers. The album was alright. It had 4 or 5 good cuts. Misery Needs Company, Dat Gangsta Shit (Premier) and Walk on By was my shit. I still don’t know why rappers put out explicit albums and leave one joint edited. Walk on By wasn’t even a single.
Big Pun > Every single rapper, ever.
