The new king of hip-hop wealth banked $100 million after taxes on one deal alone when his stake in VitaminWater’s parent, Glacéau, was bought by Coca-Cola (nyse: KO – news – people ) as part of a $4.1 billion deal. 50’s portfolio also includes the popular G-Unit clothing line and record label, plus films, videogames and a slew of platinum albums, including last year’s Curtis. Also in the works: a mining partnership with South African billionaire Partrice Motsepe (see “The 50 Cent Machine”).
I surely hope Shaniqua doesn’t see this.

Damn. Speaking of Dre, I was watching VH1 Soul (I’m old) on Sunday cause they play all the shit from the 80’s and 90’s, and Michell’e’s “No More Lies” came on and after all these years I noticed the main dude in the video was Dre, and the rest of NWA was in the video too.

Them acting checks is nice but Common’s not a Box Office Draw yet. Mobs of folks ain’t going to a flick on the strength of Common being in it, so he ain’t making paper like that. But he could get there. Robert Down Jr’s recovering crackhead-azz couldn’t get arrested till he did IronMan. Now he can charge 10 mill a flick.
I wonder how “true” these numbers are tho. I mean once the labels, agents and managers start taking their cuts, i wonder how much loot these cats really take home. Granted, it’s more than my butt’s gonna see, but still, i wonder if it’s as much as they report/want reported.
common and chamilionaire? hard to believe these guys have upwards of 10 mil in their pockets. has common ever went platinum? know he has like 7 cds but I doubt his net is even 10 mil; guess he is in some movies every now and then. chamillionaire’s first cd was a hit, not to mention ringtones, but his last didn’t do shit. it’d be interesting to see where these numbers came from, and who, in reality, is making the bills.
