what a timely post this is…
i remember when they came to Atlanta for Jack The Rapper back in ‘93. they were performing at The Warehouse and the majority east coast hip-hop crowd (Kid Capri and I were deejaying that night) was NOT feeling them AT ALL.
I love when the hiphop makes some entities, some crews, some posses which are the greatness and plurality of our music, at the same time.

“Coming Out Hard” is one of my all time favorite rap albums.
I don’t really know what people see in “In Our Lifetime” but it was cool.
“Ridin’ High” was alright.
I haven’t heard any of their other stuff but I’ll check it out.
