2 day recording time = Rushed & wack album. Take time with your craft, no need to rush.
^ agreed…
That’s your name you’re forever putting out there, so you gota make sure that sh*t’s everything you want/need it to be.
@ OED: Exactly, once you’re name is out there as an artist who puts out sub-par material it becomes difficult to rectify that label. Better to take ya time man; it’s like everybody is in a race against time to put out material. Remember when albums took upwards to 2 years to come out??? There was a reason for that: IT PRODUCED MEMORABLE WORK!!! You can rush a mixtape but that album should be treated like making fine wine in France.
or do what i do, get a good mic and pro tools set up. some foam and blankets, do as many takes as you like. listen for weeks, go back and change things. then get it all mixed at a good studio in 3 days. you end up spendin a lot less and have a better product. (trying to mix it yourself is like having an amatuer band member, throw the dough to get it mixed, and make sure you have all of the elements of the beat on separate tracks, i. e. kick, snare, hat, keys, cowbell, cowbell, and cowbell)
Here’s some real advice….
If you are in the professional studio recording with pros (especially if its during their session) make sure you get it one take! Other wise you just wasted their money. Plus you look like an amateur.
Practice at the crib not the studio!!!!!
Once you get to the studio it should only be one or two takes to get it.
YOU GOTTA GET ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
