^ u ain’t neva lied shawty. i remember working at v103 when Greg Street used to play every No Limit release every day AD NAUSEUM and when Hot 97.5 jumped on it it seemed like all of Atlanta caught the “soldier” fever for a while. Master P was so hot at one time in Atlanta that he had a show at the International Ballroom on Buford Highway in ’97 and there was a damn RIOT at that shit for being so ridiculously overcrowded.

other than Dungeon Family, Ghetto Mafia, and a couple other groups and crews, a lotta Atlanta residents didn’t really have that sense of “hometown pride” until “No Mo Play In GA”came out. after that, ey’body started OPENLY claimin “Zone 1 thru whateva”
Troy’s record was killin’ the streets so hard at the time that Master P said that he wouldn’t perform at 97.5′s Birthday Bash if Troy was on the bill. the station agreed but as a shocker to everybody, Goodie Mob brought that nigga out during their set and he single handedly shut that show DOWN!!! it was one of those things that you really had to be there to witness in order to understand how crazy that shit was…
so crazy that i was talking about it (in code) on MY show cause v103 employees were forbidden to mention other stations events. that shit, combined with Master P’s wack and blatant ripoff of OutKast’s “Hootie Hoo” ended No Limit’s stranglehold on Atlanta radio.
i also remember hearing various tales of Troy getting run out of Tennessee clubs like the Mix Factory in Nashville by C Murder.
