Dope concert moment that I had to share:
Up in T-Dot for Caribana a few years ago, when Kanye’s Diamonds was major.’Ye was performing at some relatively small outdoor venue sponsored by either MuchMusic or one of the radio staions that me & my peeps had absolutely NO chance of getting tickets for at the 11th hour.
So anyway, we’re driving around with “libations” in tow, and we take a right turn onto this narrow ass side street trying to circle the block to see this fine ass Amerie/Beyonce looking chick (redundant?) we just passed… Traffic on the street was a complete clusterfuck and at that point, we were married to it.
So there was a cop assigned to keep the traffic flowing, but he’d lost control at about the same time we pulled up, so he just gave up & let it do what it did…which was nothing suprisingly.
Low and behold, over a 10 foot fence/gate, we look over to the left and there’s Kanye, pretty much right in front of us, eye level about a stones throw away performing up a storm, so we stand on the foot joints on the outside of my truck, and had a CLEAR view to the stage. We looked at each other in complete amazement, and did what any of you would’ve done at that moment…. started mixing drinks for ouselves on top of truck and subsequently losing our cheapskate minds when Hov came out as a free bonus.
One of the highlights of the trip, and cool ass “regular guy” Hova moment.
