Hip hop artist Nate Dogg was arrested Monday for allegedly threatening his estranged wife while they each drove on the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Carson area, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The 38-year-old singer, whose real name is Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, was taken into custody about 8:30 a.m. on the northbound 405 at Avalon Boulevard, the CHP reported.
According to a CHP statement, “a female caller contacted the CHP Los Angeles communications center via 911 to report that her estranged husband, Nate Hale, had made death threats against her, and was now following her vehicle as she traveled north on I-405.”
“South Los Angeles CHP officers quickly moved to intercept the two parties, and stopped the victim and Mr. Hale,” the CHP reported.
Officers arrested Hale and booked him into a facility that has medical supervision, the CHP reported.
