Shogun – yeah, that’s Chris (Gbenga Akkinagbe) in there.
If you don’t like Wale your an idiot. Keep listening to that G-Unit and wearing those played out clothes.
Nah Dirk is an insufferable mission to “bring ‘88 back” with his countless replies of “I don’t listen to radio” & “I only listen to Myspace/indie label artists” campaign lol.
Shit gets old homie.
& I for one have no qualms w/briefly skimmin the FM dial when the seed or a female is in the whip. I like to consider myself human in that aspect.

Wale’s voice takes some gettin used to but it’s part of the draw b/c he’s got an inflection & accent like nobody else’s.
As for the radio, I do it in spurts lol. But i have no prob cuttin it on when I’m in a certain mood & them fools are playing 80’s-early 2k R&B. Still in spurts but…I used to HATE radio, now sometimes it’s a diversion from listening to rap, even if it’s shit from my ipod.
well i listen to public radio alot when theyre playin classical music and i do listen to the oldies rock station on occasion…i basically just hate commercials, which keeps me from really enjoyin radio and has me only watchin sports and shit thats recorded with the dvr so i can skip the commercials.
Wale is a breath of fresh air. I’m tired of all the lolli lolli, shoulder lean, aquaman dat ho bullshit. Nice to hear someone and something fresh for a change.
Looking at that Top 20 Radio playlist makes me sick. Good hip hop music isnt being supported anymore. Damn shame!
And if you live in Tampa and your not listening to Bubba The Love Sponge then you aren’t credible
U ^^ stay stuck on stupid, huh?
i was listenin to Bubba on 93.3 ‘the power pig’ in the early 90s….now stop talkin to me.
i need that instro………………help me ,help me please…..
um…i’m just mad that dude’s name is “bubba the love sponge”….but clearly that’s not a diss to Tampa…just a diss to that dude.

I’m with Dirk on Wale. His voice makes it difficult for me to really get into him. Dude is ill without question, but I can only take him in small doses. Maybe he’ll grow on me over time

@ CJ
There is just as much Indie/Bring 88′ back/Skateboard/Hipster/Retro/Tight T-shirt wearing-rap out there as there is Trap/Snap-rap.
AND
“Good” hip hop is being supported, at the shows and to a lesser extent in the stores. But success in the game isn’t about making it to Clear-Channel; most of the people on the radio flop anyway. Artist have to make money some other way than rapping, Wale seems to be getting his fair share of corporate love and sponsorship so backpack rappers better take notes.
Wale is the shiznit!!! I agree with the statement that his voice takes a little time to adjust to, but like Gotty said that is what makes him discernible and unique amongst a sea of other emcees out there right now. His “Mixtape About Nothing” is doing it for me right now.
@ TC: You sniffin’ that white like Young Buck or what with that comment??!! lol!!!
