I’m a broke ass recent college graduate so my shoe game has been struggling for about four years. But graduation money is pouring in and first order of business (beyond saving some, of course) is to get a fresh pair of kicks.

So I mosey on into a few shoe stores here in New Orleans. I see some fly Dunks and whatnot. But one shoe absolutely killed them all in my opinion.

The Air Jordan Retro VI Olympic versions. The Jordan VI’s are classics and right below the patent leather XI’s as my favorite. The all white upper gives the shoe that classic look while allowing the crazy Olympic flag-inspired bottoms to supply the updated look. Plus, these shoes were from Jordan’s first championship year, so it has some emotional resonance to it.

I looked at the shoes for one second before asking the Foot Locker ref to go grab me a pair of size 13s from the back. She gave me that “no chance in hell” look that means that these joints were long gone. Only one pair of size 7′s were in stock.

Apparently these shoes came out last weekend and a bunch of little rat bastards camped outside of Foot Lockers across the country and swiped all the shoes up with their punk ass allowance and disposable income.

Basically, I need these kicks because these are my favorite retro redo’s so far. But since they’re not in any store that I know of, I’m tuckin a few tools and walking around until someone with some Olympic VI’s walks into a dark alley.
