Trying to find the album covers for these old Clue tapes (Mission Impossible status), I stumbled across some vintage P graphic from the old Smoking Session with dude.
P’s graphics > the sound of the ice cream truck on a hot, sunny day.

Is DJ Clue the greatest “Mixtape DJ” of all time?
Depends on the criteria.
If you mean, best in terms of setting the mold for the deejay being the dude to break exclusives & leading the pack, probably.
If you mean, skills on the turntables and/or that ear to create perfect mixes, maybe not because I can think of a few others who excel past him in those categories.
Do Remember!!
This is from back when Clue ran the mixtape scene…nowadays, DJ mixtapes are damn near irrelevant, with a few exceptions (i.e. Big Mike, Mick Boogie, DJ Drama, DJ Green Lantern, what up, Wit-E!). Blame the artists for fronting their own mixtapes & the internet. Exclusives ain’t exclusive no more.
i need a flat scanner and a usb cord and i can up basically every Clue cover from 95 through 98… i gotta track that down
CLUE!!! CLUE!!! lol!!! Nah man, Clue ain’t a turntablist but he knows how to blend and break new bangaz to the streets. I remember watching a dvd called “Mixtape Inc.” which had interviews with Kay Slay and Ron G along with other veteran and current mixtape dj’s. A lot of the dj’s said that Clue ushered in a whole new era of cats who didn’t need to have turntable skills, just dope records.
yo Gotty, thank you for this
