Fresh off the Dancing With The Stars performance, Lil Ursher Raymond with the video for “Moving Mountains.” Fortunately for me, this track has been on the iPod playlist for a minute & perhaps if the tempo were just a hair more upbeat, it could see this fully owning radio (like it won’t anyway though).

First…
I was wondering when this was going up! LOL
Has anyone listened to the album? I’ve heard bits & pieces and I’m thinking maybe I need to hear it as a whole.
Haven’t heard it front to back, basically bits & pieces too, and aside from the singles, nothing really stood out to Me. I think I’m gonna have to just zoneout & really LISTEN to it.
One thing I noticed…this album appears to be Confessions 2.0
Yeah = In This Club
Let It Burn = Moving Mountains
So far, Confessions is winning…
^ Agreed… I’ve listened to it once all the way through, and so far…
Confessions > Here I Stand
Confessions IS winning-HAVE listened to the album (quite a bit, actually) and like it a lot (Threw that “Dat Girl Right There” w/Luda on there @ the end to liven the ending of it up cuz they left it off the album). Usher’s definitely matured tho-subject matter is on point. Solid.
You gotta admit… Confessions is hard to beat though.
^ Very true.
I was thinking that as I respoded, y’all. That’s Ursh’s magnum opus to this point.
respoNded… doh!
@ Amp
“nothing really stood out to Me”
I felt the same, exact way @ first, second, and third listen, but then I let it go that ONE GOOD TIME, and a few of the songs really started making themselves known to me.
also
Is it me, or do you hear some early De La/Posdnous influences on a couple of tracks off that Tanya Morgan EP? (Filthier, Be You, Get Me Inside) It could just be that homey’s voice reminds me a lot of Posdnous.
I gave it a proper listen front to back, and I was impressed.
My expectations were skewed by the first single…I should learn NOT to judge an album by its first single. Some of you may remember my opinion about how Polow Da Don went about creating the first single…lol. That, coupled with my memory loss (I had forgotten how good Confessions was) led me to think Ursher’s new CD was gonna be more along the lines of what these pretenders to the throne have been putting out.
“Wrong!” – Charlie Murphy
co-sign Oed’s comment about Ursh’s subject matter being on point; good song-writing is sorely lacking in R&B nowadays, and from what I’ve heard, I have no complaints.
Usher can sang, so there’s no concern there…
The production is nice & diverse
btw, Oed…where’d you get that “Dat Girl Right There” ? i need that…
Amp – thanks for posting that Tanya previously
Yeah, Dude kinda reminds Me of Pos too. But they’re defintely influenced by the whole Native Tongues. I’ve only listened to it once all the way through, but “Be You” is an early fave…
@ Teef
check quite a few posts ago.
Dirk had it included on that advance copy he upped.
Ursher & Luda – Dat Girl…

even if it doesn’t measure up to “Confessions” – mark my words, “Here I Stand” WILL be the R&B album for this spring/summer/fall
when Usher drops an album, it’s an event, like how when Nas/Jay/50/Em drop albums…teh label will milk it for all it’s worth
thanks!
No question, “Be You” is that sh*t
*makes invisible “note to self” to include it on homemade summertime CD*
No doubt…
This itz depressing, he’s depressing, looks depressing, album sucks…
And I haven’t written Usher off just yet. It’s just I have to really sit down & absorb “Here I Stand” without subconsciously comparing it to “Confessions”. But when an artist has made such a classic album, it’s hard to listen to a new project without holding it up against the classic, as unfair as that is.
yeah…I’ll have to agree with most of you that Confessions is a better album…but that was then! I can’t remember an R&B album being this damn good since then! lol
yeah > love in this club
but love in this club more tight.
if someone have under the hand tha Here i stand link, please… cuz no links right here…
when tha usher shots…
confessions album !!!
Urshurr needs an upper….
and so it goes…
not that there was any doubt, but for those still steppin’ in the name of love, is there any lingering doubt as to who the “king” of r&b is right now?
Kels may be the more prolific and better musician (Ursher is just vocalist/performer, from what I know..)
but Kels rep & tarnished character won’t allow me to recognize him as an R&B king. Sorry, that’s Usher’s spot now.
Kels just seems like a dark, twisted dude..who the fuck admires that shit? Ursh comes across as a regular ol’ dancin’ ass playa
It’s gonna make a hell of a movie though….
^ yup!

Gotty
So far the “loosie” songs that have been posted seem to be on the album via itunes. That song “Flash” is type hot.
As a person that does videso, that video is wack!!! Just expected more from such a dope song. Not to mention the video version of the song is a little different from what you posted a few weeks ago on TSS (me personally, i like that version better)
On another note, Triggerhappy now has a sister company called Brobot. We are now a label. We have Solomon Cortes, The Retro Kidz, and Junior Sanchez. We on some other shit..think GLOBAL.

yea so i didnt really like dis video…..im done
You kidding me? For example, is “Moving Mounatains” far way better then “Let It Burn”, the song is so powerfull, beautiful and emotional, and the lyrics really toching me.
I don’t understand why some of you compare “Here I Stand” and “Confessions”, ´the both albums includes tracks with strong feelings, but I just don’t get it why the albums is nearly the same.
Okay, both “Yeah!” and “Love In This Club” is club-bangers, but then? Those two songs is good in thier own way, I like them both of diffrent reasons.
I’m crazy about usher and i love his new cd !
Usher is soooooo hot and sexy
yeah the video version is different
&& I do like the version I first heard better
but I still love the song.
i really dont understand the video, but its a really good song
