First off, the vid is not necessarily safe for work.
But yeah, I meant to put this out a while back following the whole Sean Bell saga but I got distracted by Tigallo’s post on the same matter.
Basically, this is the Deandre Brunston video, where he got sprayed up by police in Compton.
81 shots fired because he was apparently brandishing a weapon that turned out to be a flip-flop. 22 confirmed hits.
He also got a dog unleashed on him.
It pissed me off how the cops got mad that they shot their dog as though they hadn’t just laid out a human being.
What angered me more, though, is what you don’t see in the video; the more disturbing aftermath. A helicopter and emergency team were sought out for the dog and he (the dog) was airlifted and taken to “safety” and then treated, and I think, eventually died.
Meanwhile, Deandre, who was still alive after 22 shots, was left there to die.

Wikipedia also has him offering to surrender and throw his gun down if he can talk by phone to his girl who was sitting in the back of a police car. No matter what the suspect says or does lethal force is supposed to be the last option, the situation prior to them sending in the dog was under control. Seems like it’s too easy to write off a dead black man with a gun, to the extent that the police themselves escalate the situation to get it over and go home.
First i am surprised this is still on Youtube. Second, this we bad from both ends. Don’t act like you have a gun when you don’t. Third, watching them carry the dog away while leaving a possibly live human bleeding to death is almost as sickening as watching him get shot. Fourth, i love how this cops are arguing with him and getting him more pissed, instead of trying to calm the situation down for a peaceful resolution.
Seems to me that if the cops woulda put the dog in the car, dude prolly woulda put down his stupid sandle. He knew that if he dropped his ‘gun’, that dog was gonna come runnin for him right away. Poorly handled situation for sure. Dude didn’t need to die.

Im not sure what wasnt shown or what the circumstances were. But dude should have known ESPECIALLY IN COMPTON that the cops wont budge or give a eff about him. Nor would they hesitate to use lethal force.
If he is threatening to SHOOT THE DOG, the cops are going to assume that he HAS A GUN. In the vid he repeatedly says if they let the dog go he is going to shoot.
He also says he has one load with 13 shots! C’mon mayne……….the cops are not gonna back down!!!! That was stupid on his part.
I AGREE….the cops are wrong for paying more attention to the dog than the boy! But this is LA. Everybody loves they’re damn dogs out here!!!

i agree that he didn’t have to die, but why in the hell would you pretend to have a gun and say you’re going to shoot the dog? that’s just stupid and i agree with whoever said he provoked the shit.

this shit was handled dead wrong by everyone involved.
Everyone was wrong in this case; the police acted improperly with firing all of those shots. In most stand off situations they would usually have a police sniper take him out. He was wrong for threatening the police with shooting them. Once you put in their heads that you are a threat they will treat you as such.

He didn’t deserve to be shot that many times, or left like that, when they took an animal to get treatment over a human. But, as someone previously said; he did say he had a gun, and lead them to believe that. He should have never done shit that, at all.
the dog is a sworn officer. just as they would take care of a human officer before the jacka** that caused the problem, they are gonna take care of the K9. it’s a pain in the ass to protect and serve ni**er a**holes
You brandish ANYTHING, especially at night and especially in THAT situation and any idiot would know they are going to get shot. Why else do that? HE WANTED TO DIE. Too cowardly to do it himself he knew the police would oblige if he did it right.
Yes there were repeated hits. That is what happens when a group of officers that large are in on the call. Nobody is going to wait and see who else fires. You just fire and take out the target. Mission accomplished.
And the police dog’s life was actually worth something. That’s why they got him help. I highly doubt Deandre “survived” 22 gunshots. That’s just more fodder by the black community cryin because another one of their crack smoking baby daddy’s is dead. He wanted to die. Get the fuck over it.
