Yeezy

I feel like there’s still niggas that owe me checks

I feel like there’s still bitches that owe me sex

I feel like this but niggas don’t know Ye’s stress

I lost the only girl in the world that know me best

I got the money and the fame and that don’t mean shit

I got the Jesus on the chain, man, that don’t mean shit

Cuz when the Jesus pieces can’t bring me peace, yo

I need just at least, ugh, one of Russell’s nieces

Ooooon, I let my nightmares go

I put ooooon everybody that I knew from the go

I knew hoooooes that was frontin’ when they he was broke

They say ‘Damn, Yeezy Yeezy, you don’t know us no mo’

You got that big fame homie, and you just changed homie

You can ask big homie, man, the top so lonely

I ain’t lyyyyyin, so lonely, I ain’t lyyyyyin

Lemmie see what we have toniiiiiight (what we have toniiiiight)

I’m high as a satelliiiiite (satelliiiiite)

I see those flashing liiiiights (flashing liiiiights)

Cuz every night, every night, I put ooooon….”

Kanye West, from Young Jeezy’s “Put On”

Jeezy can rap about being ‘harder than a dinner plate’ all he wants. But when it comes down to it, Kanye soft-side is what makes him 2008′s Hottest MC. Like the 7 1/2 floor, he continually let’s listeners into his head by just being himself on the mic. When Ye’s not bragging and boasting, he’s continually airing out his insecurities, and that’s where all of us imperfect individuals can relate.

It’s a perfect balance, for the listeners, at least.

And, even though this Auto-Tune phase is completely out of hand, The Louis Vuitton Don justifies it, by knowing exactly how and when to use it.
