Jeezy can rap about being ‘harder than a dinner plate’ all he wants. But when it comes down to it, Kanye soft-side is what makes him 2008’s Hottest MC. Like the 7 1/2 floor, he continually let’s listeners into his head by just being himself on the mic. When Ye’s not bragging and boasting, he’s continually airing out his insecurities, and that’s where all of us imperfect individuals can relate.
It’s a perfect balance, for the listeners, at least.
And, even though this Auto-Tune phase is completely out of hand, The Louis Vuitton Don justifies it, by knowing exactly how and when to use it.

Ye’ makes this song. After making it to the top of the game, He’s starting to feel the hate that comes with it. His use of AutoTune only emphasizes the isoation that comes with reaching the heights He’s reached. Even though He manages to throw in the usual ish about broads & Jesus pieces, it’s the underlying pain & the vibe that even with all His success, He’s still not satisfied, that makes this verse so ill. This is one of His most compelling verses in a while & I hope He stays on this course for the next project.
BTW-I think somebody will be using a Saigon verse for the next Notable Quotable. That “Believe It” joint is fire!

Simha Jamison testified Wednesday that she and the alleged victim were best friends for about ten years until their junior year in high school.
