Have you ever wanted something, not that consumed you, but you just wished would take place?

One of those things where if the stars aligned & you were able to obtain it, you feel like you could add another notch to your belt and achieve a level of fulfillment.

I can easily think of a few easily…

– a ’96 SS Impala – I wouldn’t pay the price for it…but if I got one black in color, good mileage & @ the right price, I’d be on that shit.

– Kristen from Cass who went to college with me. “The nerve of that hoe not to give me no pussy” – Resurrection, which I fantasized probably smelled like peaches.

But, it’s generally those things, when you do get them, you realize that your life isn’t complete. The moment of satisfaction fleeting. You realize that not gettin them & lusting after the idea was much more fulfilling than actually achieving instant nirvana.

That’s kind of where I’m at when I saw the pics of Suge slumped.

For years, the allegations, the intimidation, the cocksure attitude sealed with a cigar. We blamed him for countless beefs, allegedly being involved in some of Hip-Hop’s most violent moments and waited. Waited until something finally befell him.

Jail time served wasn’t enough to knock Suge off his high horse, so we continued to hold on to our same frustration. Failing to make any significant noise musically, bankruptcy & eventually losing his Death Row weren’t just punishment enough to satiate us either.

But with the images of him laid on the concrete…even the savage in me felt a little sorry for him. On scale of 1-10, my level of satisfaction…two maybe. One & a strong push.

As a shell of his former self, Suge’s looming presence over the West seemed to be an afterthought, at least to an outsider. Gangster rap isn’t as prominent a business model as it once was but we know that subculture of Hip-Hop still exists in some form. A newer wave of “refreshing rap” has been on the come up from that side of the map. Flourishing even.

So by now, it was more “who cares about Suge?” rather than “where’s Suge?” as if he bound to pop up somewhere along the line to break the peace.

At this point and after looking @ the pics, it’s ironic. I’m not delighted. I ain’t cheerin’. I’m just sort of quietly walking away, shaking my head, thinking “it was bound to happen eventually.”

Suge finally got it.

But is the rap world rejoicing in getting what it always asked for?
