Disagree all you want, but Haystak is the realest rapper I’ve ever heard.
Out of the thousands of rappers on the map right now, backpack or Benz-reppin,’ few of them have big enough balls to turn their wedding video into a sight for the masses. There’s either too much behind their masks, or it’s too personal for us fans to understand.
Never Stak, though.
Watching this new visual for 2005′s “Bonnie & Clyde,” I was touched by the sentimental value of it all. Complete with the bride and groom’s best, their vows and the picturesque country wedding, Stak Mak’s heart-felt testament to his new wife is perfectly portrayed here. Plus, aside from a ceremony I could only dream of having, there wasn’t anything flashy about this at all, which is almost irregular in videos these days.
While other rappers are flossin’ more than a dentist, or shoving their views down people’s throats, Haystak only does what he knows best.
Jason Winfrey.
And, most of the time, that’s all I ever wanna’ hear.
==================
New Haystak Loosies

Mak Million
that’s Haystak’s FIRST album
first?
see thats why i used the ?
I gotta give this fella a listen…I think I used to laugh at his ads in the Source/XXL if I’m not mistaken, but I’ll check him out with a strong TSS co-sign…
PLEASE TAKE AWAY BEWARE’S POSTING PRIVILEGES.
I’ll take away his…once I take away yours.
Deal?

i don’t personally know anyone from Tennessee, but it seems like, from what I read in interviews and such, people from TN are down-to-earth and humble…even Young Buck…heck, them Three Six dudes came across as cool-ass country bumpkins on their reality show
I heard that Gotty’sâ„¢ from TN.
I agree with Beware, stuff like this is missing from music today. Im not a Stak fan, but I can dig the fact that he expressed his feelings this way.
I discovered Haystak through TTS a while back – never looked back, the kid is nice with his.
@ Gottyâ„¢
so, then, is my assessment correct?
Dog, I’m a prick.
Jay or Dame. I chose the Dame route lol.
But nah, you’ll find that most cats in the South period are pretty laidback & receptive.
i already figured YOU’D be the exception, lol
speaking of laid-back…Curtis has been sounding like he’s having fun doing what he does, instead of going through the motions:

Jay & Fiddy are poised to make this their year, arent they?
wait…they already run shit. my bad.
making moves on their own terms is what I admire about them two dudes
Really?
This is a joke, right?
Hahaha.
Ok, I respect his realness. Really reminds me of Brother Ali (no, not because he’s white) in the sense that he exposes himself in his records. He doesn’t create some alter-ego rap personality whose life he commentates…at least that’s the impression I got from listening to a couple of those tracks.
BUT…although I respect him and his music, I don’t think he’s an exceptionally good rapper (again, i’m just basing this off of the tracks that were posted). Its kind of like the Plies situation. You have to respect Plies’ content (most of it at least) but skill-wise he’s sub-par. That’s why I’m a big Brother Ali fan. He keeps it real and still displays skill (that rhymes…kinda). Okay, I’m done.
this will make ur stomach hurt from laughing:

@ Heff
No doubt.
Alter-Ego / Character rappers…we could name-drop all day…
in addition to Brother Ali, another set of emcees that possess the skill-set necessary to be deemed great AND have lyrical content/subject matter relevant to us everyday folk:
Little Brother & Blu
I think it’s all in the state. Louisiana and Mississippi cats act weird. But Kentucky and Tenn cats were cool.
tc u got mail
I always thought Stak was a joke too based on them ads in the old Source mags, and people still laugh when I tell him to check him out…. But he’s for real. Love his music. Very original. Every rapper says he’s got 100 styles, but Stak actually does.
Stop judging before listening, it’s about the music
I met Stack @ Quad Studios in Nashville back in the day and have done some work for him. He is a real dude.
I always like the fact that Stack was sumthin different out the south if only by skin color. But buddy need to get better beats let DJ Paul & J lace em with some more of that soulful shit. (ditto for Bubba Sparxxx)
I’ll take away his…once I take away yours.

haha….them niggas was actin like some horny little dogs. LMAO when that nigga hopped off the speakers
thanks for putting me on to dude. would have never peeped his shit just based on looks. great vid.
I prefer Bubba Sparxxx & Deliverence when I need some good ol’ hick-hop.
But to each his own, we all got someone we vouch for.
Won’t try, not yet, is Deliverance the Illmatic of Hick-hop?
Shit…I thought his wife looked good
Nice post Beware. I’ve always liked Haystak, posted a discog on here a while back actually. I like the realism in him that you pointed out. He’s nothing more, nothing less. No, he’s not the greatest mc ever, but is that really the point of music? He speaks his mind, could use better production at times, but its cool as it is. I can feel it as just a normal cat workin 9-5, thats what I like, just a real mf. He’s tru to his self and will always get respect in my book.
and @ memphis, what about 8ball & MJG?!
Anyone post some of his albums??….This new hardrive needs some love.
that’s a real personal approach and very genuine. seems as if his rapping voice changed over the years which may not serve him well……great video though, super concept
