Prodigy is the innernuts, even while in jail. And dude wasn’t receiving this much love while he was out.

Everybody gets one.
Reminds me of Nas “Streets Disciple” cover. I havent been really feel P since HNIC. He feel soooooo off to me. This nigga forgets to even rhyme some songs. I stiiill fux wit Hav tho. He has “slept on” production skills
P-dubble may not be on his lyrical game like he once was (sheeit, he ain’t been on it since Murda Muzik IMO) but he’s still one of the hardest out…HNIC was dope, so was Return of the Mac and the Mobb albums in between…matter fact, Return of the Mac has more playback value than a whole shitload of real lyrical shit i can think of…dude’s just got that voice (nh), it don’t matter what he’s sayin the shit sounds grimy
2nd that Sherm. No homo, but I fuck with Prodigy. It’s hard to hate on a dude that gave us half of Mobb Deep’s albums and has stayed with such a consistent style, even if it’s losing its potency as he gets older.
As tough as Prodigy talks, I can’t help but laugh at it now. Dude has taken way too many L’s over the past few years that basically pulled his card.
That isn’t to say I don’t enjoy his older stuff and some of the newer joints. But for awhile when I was growing up, I thought those Mobb Deep niggas were the hardest dudes out. Come to find out they do a whole lot of talking, and little to back it up. I mean, if you’re THAT gangsta, how are you gonna get snuffed on stage at YOUR show and not do a damn thing about it?
Basically it’s all entertainment, and anyone thinking Prodigy is a tough guy really needs to step back into reality. And at this point, it seems like he goes out of his way to be grimey, where before that shit just came off as effortless. Not to mention his rhymes fell way the fuck off.
obviously, 99% of rappers aren’t really doing the shit they talk about in their songs…they may have done the shit in the past, or they do a little bit of it or, mosre likely, their crew does dirt and they sit back and rap about the shit…nobody said Prodigy was Frank White or no shit like that…compared to a lot of rappers, he has done a lot of shit tho…and don’t forget he is in jail for ridin around NYC wit a gun and not snitchin when he got caught…but regardless of all that, i listen to him cuz the shit sounds good to me…like i said, he obviously fell off lyrically quite a few years ago…but his recent shit has a lot of the swagger and a little bit more of the passion and skill of the old MOBB…and fuck that Saigon bullshit – what did you want him to do, pull out and blast dude live on stage? i respect Saigon but he ain’t done shit yet and he can’t touch P’s resume…he needs to fall back and concentrate on droppin an album
Off topic but has anyone seen any of the Glow in The Dark concerts? Mr. West and Company are comin’ through Seattle on Wednesday and I was offered a ticket…I think i’m gonna pass though. …I fucking hate Arena concerts, but was curious as to how past shows have been. NERD would be who I would want to see again the most.
Ndiamonds, I haven’t heard anything first-hand, but I saw a preview video of the lighting rigs he’s using somewhere, and the shit looks incredible. Same designer as the Daft Punk pyramid. I’d for sure go if I could, if for nothing other than the blunt-appeal, lol.
Cellblock P should be a model for Karma Loop.
Hey Prodigy! If you’re reading this:
Fall back on the blogging, man! This goes for you too, Saigon!
Rappers who blog = L!
Y’all be typing in CAPS LOCK and run-on sentences and long-ass paragraphs, and the shit’s not a good look…literally. Got my eyes bleeding and shit.
Get off the damn keyboard and get your swole on, dunn.
Basically it’s all entertainment, and anyone thinking Prodigy is a tough guy really needs to step back into reality. And at this point, it seems like he goes out of his way to be grimey, where before that shit just came off as effortless. Not to mention his rhymes fell way the fuck off.

I feel you (pause)
Be Lund, I was kind of thinking the same thing. Plus it’s free. If it sucks balls I can leave. Working in the Beer and Wine business has it’s perks…
Any London heads frequent TSS?
I’m gonna be there May 8, 9, 10….Where’s the good hip hop spots at? Preferably more of a sneakers, jeans and hoodie boom bap spot than a radio friendly corny ass spot. Camden maybe?
How bout Frankfurt Germany? Gonna be there the weekend before London…any good Sneaker Spots? These guide books don’t have a section titled Hip Hop Cultural Must See Places..lol
Who cares if a rapper gets hit, hes a rapper, i dont care what he does in his real life. Just keep making good music. I hate all the news we get like so and so bought a new house or is vacationing on this island, shit is ridiculous.
I’m officially done with mixtapes. Too many “DJ’s” dropping all there bullshit on em. Can’t even get into a song without hearing some computer voice droppin there name. Most annoying shit ever.
Gotty,
may have found a copy yet here ya go anyway
DJ Quik greatest hits live at the House of Blues

Damn son. I BOUGHT a GITD tour ticket…and you passin it up for free?
*stomps aways in a jealous rage*
I need Wesley Snipes’ CPA, stat
Why @ ARon? lol.. I personally like to hear a Mixtape companies name shouted on tracks in the car. It gets me hyper driving to a party, or anywhere in general, and hearing a random Tapemasters Inc lol.. I’ll admit tho, I stay away from Big Mike’s Mixtape, I’m officially tired of hearing his voice, and or The Empire.
Prodigy is still ill!!! This ain’t 1995 so those “The Infamous” & “Hell On Earth” days are DONE. I admit that his lyrics aren’t what they used to be as far as delivery is concerned, but when it comes to rawness, dopeness, and above all realness and grimeyness (is that a word? LOL!) P still has it. “Return of the MAC” was an end-to-end burner and “HNIC2″ is shaping up to be one as well. Who gives a fuck about the personal lives of your favourite rapper; such and such got snuffed blah blah blah just give me the fucking music!!! That Saigon shit is a joke; he’s a great MC but his album ain’t NEVER coming out, and if it does happen to make it out I doubt it will resonate in any hiphop fans’ mind like a Infamous Mobb Deep record will.
Ha, you gotta love P for talking the toughest shit out on records and weighin it at a whoppin 55 kg. I agree with the dude sayin that Sai can’t touch P’s resume also. The jury is still out on him. P on the other hand been soundin like he gettin his flow back ever since that ‘Key to the city’ track with Alchemist. That verse is the shit.
Cell Block P should be a model for Karma Loop.
Damn, i thought that shit had leaked.
CAPS LOCK P needs to fall back off the blogging tip cuz his run-on sentences and long-ass paragraphs be makin’ my eyes bleed, word up.
Prodigy needs a sponsorship from Balco so he can get his swole on. Then next time Sai takes the stage at B.B.Kings, P can return the favor with a quick 2 piece to the dome.
^LOL

Guud.:! some greums on dat !;.
S**t called ‘just you’ by da Blastmaster & Bumpy
http://www.zshare.net/audio/10512338934a6661/
KRS-1 feat. Freddie Foxxx (as Bumpy Knuckles).
that cover reminds me of the first and only time I saw Mobb Deep perform around the time The Infamous was out. There was like 15-30 (!!! – I dunno, I was drunk. Might’ve been less lol) lil’ dudes up on stage all at once, all about the same height, all about the same weight, same build, ALL WITH MICS TALKING AT THE SAME DAMN TIME!
Torture.
That cover look like a photoshop session gone wrong lol.
Prodigy has some of the illest verses EVER!!!
Yeah, He’s not spitting like He was on The Infamous but I think He gets alot of hate for signing with Fif.
And Dude is entertaining if nothing else. He’s got some real points too. P was the first to use Kyte & I think that video blogging is really the next step in promotion. I don’t know if HNIC2 will be better than the first one. I doubt it’ll be as good as Return Of The Mac, but nobody makes “Murda Musik” like Punchingbag P.

My empire strikes with the strength of poisonous snakes
My entire unit loaded up with snake niggas that hire stakes
We pull off a high stakes, great escapes, expand, shift team downstate
Dreams are growing over and my son’ll live great
Little man I’m plannin to enhance your mindstate
The rebirth, a nigga who lived an ill life
The one before me was of an even more trife

But I gotta survive in order to follow thru plans to live lot-o
Me and my lil’ getgo, any man tryin to stop us he get wet-o

Don’t you put your hands too close and try to approach
I won’t snap at you I’m goin for throats

I peeped you from deep and then you got cut throats
My formulae-I live life do or die

Overpower y’all, tiny noise like locust

Burn a hole straight thru ya brain and leave ya open (Oh shit!)

Leavin niggas stuck, I let spit
Trapped up in a web of a nigga that’s sick

Prodigy-Apostle’s Warning
C’mon B….Cats still ain’t spittin like this.
^There’s numerous errors in that verse, I got it from a lyrics site instead of writing it Myself. Still, even with the errors, it’s one of the illest verses….
Real BX Ish!! Shoutouts to My Dude Geoh! All the public access grindin is startin to pay off!
Bang Bang Boogie-Bangout

I was just playing Mobb’s earlier albums this past week.
I know P has had his missteps….sh*t, I’ve made jokes on a few of ‘em, but in all sincerity, show some respect. Mobb’s 2nd (The Infamous), 3rd and 4th albums (not even counting singles of other albums) are comparable to, if not greater than ANY 3 hip-hop albums in anyone’s else’s discography.
Might sound like insanity, but play them sh*ts back to back and say it’s insanity then..
F*ck a sucker-punch, P got (and has taken lol) HITS…
^ Real Spit.

========================================
Of course I wouldn’t want him to shoot dude on stage. But just stand there? Cmon gee. My point is all the tough guy talk needs to cease if you’re just gonna stand there when some dude steals on you. Again, I realize it’s all entertainment and music. And the music is what matters. But as I’ve grown older, I guess I’ve gotten tired of the gangsta talk from grown men the size of my 13-year-old brother.
And let’s be honest. ROTM wasn’t that ill on the lyrical tip. ALC killed the boards and thats what carried the album, IMO. Take P’s lyrics and put them over some other beats, and nobody would be talking about that album.
I’m as big of a Mobb fan as the next dude, but I gotta call a spade a spade. And Prodigy’s new stuff has little staying power. He’s average now. And is it me, or has “swagger” become an excuse to say someone is nice? Eff your swag homie–give me some good, solid lyricism and I’m good.
^ that Bang Bang Boogie sh*t is flames..
get it crackin’ w/ the mp3, Amp…. lol
It’s spring time, my truck needs that
http://nahright.com/news/2008/04/14/video-prodigy-in-the-studio/
look at the lyrics quoted and look how simple most of the rhymes are and how come doesnt even rhyme:
My empire strikes with the strength of poisonous snakes
My entire unit loaded up with snake niggas that hire stakes
We pull off a high stakes
^^^ snakes and stakes each used 2wice
But I gotta survive in order to follow thru plans to live lot-o
Me and my lil’ getgo, any man tryin to stop us he get wet-o
^^^ no explanation needed
He couldn’t withstand the snake bite, there is no hanky
^^ huh?
I won’t snap at you I’m goin for throats
I peeped you from deep and then you got cut throats
^^^ rhyming throats with throats
You’re small prey, I’ll easily bait and trap yea
This man is half mad scientist-half sane
^^^ doesnt rhyme
Creative rhyme labryinth like poisonous cannabis
Here take a toke of this daily rare roackalist
^^ huh?
^There’s numerous errors in that verse, I got it from a lyrics site instead of writing it Myself.
=================================
And Wit-E targeted the mistakes. Why don’t You listen to the song before You hate? I stand by my claim that this is a dope verse. The official lyrics soon to come…
Niggaz on here talking about P’s lyrics when they couldn’t fucking spit a bar if Russell Simmons threw them 100 grand!!! Get the fuck out of here!!! P got punched, so what? Plenty of y’all probably took beat downs too but won’t admit it because you’re too “gangsta”. Ma’fuckaz need to fall back and be fans for real, god damn.

Take heed to the apostle’s warning”
Prodigy-Apostle’s Warning
If the Prodigy we knew in 95 was rapping today, he would be better than 95% of the rappers out today. Nowadayz, I would say he is better than about 70% of the other emcees trying to do what he does. I may be out of touch, but how many “NY Grimey Rap” artists are doing it better than P?
Dude was rapping in a visual style using a frame of reference that few cats can even understand, let alone copy. Mobb Deep were pioneers for that “Grimey Shit”.Before “The Infamous”, Cats were dancing, rapping about broads, or rapping about how much skill they had on the mic. Yeah, KRS-One, Kool G Rap & a few others are the OG’s, but the Mobb took it to another level that influenced all the East Coast MC’s that came after.
“I may be out of touch, but how many “NY Grimey Rap” artists are doing it better than P?”
Tragedy Khadafi
Tragedy Khadafi is super nice, but let me clarify my last comment. How many “NY Grimey Rap” artists are getting a better look than Prodigy outside of the region they represent? Dope underground cats like Bumpy Knuckles won’t get it. Even M.O.P. hasn’t got that mainstream spotlight, and they were signed to Rocafella and G Unit. Maybe Ghost if we threw him in that category, but I can’t think of anybody.
