After all the FM-bashing I do on this site, it’s ironic that the only thing I feel is worth writing about today is something I discovered on the radio this afternoon at work.

The song is called “Handlebars” by a rap group called The Flobots, out of Colorado.

It’s like an Alfred Hitchcock movie – simple, yet extremely complex at the same time. Like most rap songs these days, it’s a lot of boasting. However, the difference is, it’s far from ignorant. It’s actually a politically charged anthem about being able to do anything you put your mind to, whether it be positive or negative.

After listening a few more times, and hearing how they can truly “move a nation with a microphone,” I have a feeling Flobot will be a mainstay on my least favorite method of music for years to come.

I guess that’s a good thing…for the time being.
