“I Have Nothing…”
GENERAL By Gotty™ on April 28, 2008 at 12:22 pmTwo things happened to spark this…
1. I spied this pic @ C&D and just shook my damn head.
2. I watched a screener of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins & “Saving All My Love” came on towards the very end of the movie.
That’s when I decided that I definitely missed that old Whitney Houston.
From her rise in the 80’s & prominence throughout the 90’s, she’s the vocal prototype for the feminine voice in music. Mariah. Beyonce. Alicia. Recent followers, like Kelly Clarkson & Leona Lewis. They all followed the path blazed by Whitney.
Without any shame, I know all the words to “I’m Every Woman” and sing the opening refrain quite often, trying to attain the purity of her vocals with my cigarette-stained throat. And when the beat drops, I stop singin’ and start doing a frentic, Cliff Huxtable herky-jerky type dance, clapping my hands.
“Saving All My Love.” The guitar-strumming & high hopes of “My Love Is Your Love.” “I Have Nothing.”
Know’em all.
I miss that Whitney.
I’m sure Clive does too.
And if Whitney’s leading the pack & she’s humpin’ around with Ray J, does that mean Beyonce is destined to be with Omarion?

*sighs*
*clicks link & downloads*
thanks for the classic Whitney material!
What’s the chances of anyone having The Foreign Exchange album?…Phonte…Thanks in advance
that old Whitney’s been gone for a while…hopefully, underneath the crack and cigarette smoke, it’s still in there somewhere, waiting to come out and amaze a whole new audience…hopefully there’s still something there for us old school Whitney fans, too…and Ray J? he annoys the shit outta me and he has no business being with Whitney but hey, ALHAB (At Least He Ain’ Bobby)
Whitney + Bobby became the 90’s musical version of Aunt Esther and Woodrow
Whitney + Ray J = Lingering effects of crack…. this suspected union is like some form of sacrilege I have yet to comprehend… I know THAT it is, I’m just not exactly sure WHY it is… Seeing these two together is like watching the kid you used to punk, pimp one of your aunt’s or sumn….
thanks for the Whitney muzack. a CD of this will make a nice, random present for ma’dukes
btw, what happened to that Ryan Leslie post/video…it vanished on some Gotty Copperfield ish

Cocaine is a helluva drug.
Clive Davis is already held in the highest regard in the Music Biz, but He’ll be hailed as a genius if He manages to help Whitney’s career get back on track.
Ray J: 27 years old
Whitney Houston: 44 years old
Hot M.I.L.F. pussy: PRICELESS!!!
ps: Buy that fucking ROOTS album this week!!! Show the labels what we as fans want to hear!!!
^ lol
yes, flea, I’m going straight to Best Buy after work tomorrow to support The Roots, just like I did last week with Atmosphere…I just might buy C.R.A.C. if they got that in too.
@ Estelle’s Grill: That’s what’s up my G!!! Buy that C.R.A.C album for sure too, I got it last week and it definitely has bangers on it. Fuck!!! There goes all my sneaker/fitted money!!! Too many albums to cop damn it!!! PLUS the “Glow in the Dark” tour and “Rock the Bells” concert is coming so I gotta drop cake for that too.
Exactly what song on that C.R.A.C. is a “banger?”…just curious.
what is Blu’s appeal?? i haven’t heard a damn thing from him even tho hes getting rave reviews..synopsis anyone?
damn how yall get constant avatars?…im tired of that gay ass skeletor
I’m really feelin that “I Can’t Help It” from The Roots.
And for some reason I like that Birthday Girl song better without the visuals, usually its the opposite
Buying 2 Roots CD’s > C.R.A.C CD
Exactly what song on that C.R.A.C. is a “banger?”…
——————————————————————-
The only songs that really stand out are “Love Don’t” & “Pop Dem Boyz”, but as an overall listening experience, this joint grew on Me the more I listened to it. It’s definitely different, but in a De La Soul sorta way. Music for the open minded. I just wish there was more actual rhyming on it, espcially from Blu.
nobody was more oppsed to listening to blues album than me.
I thought he looked like sonic the hedge hog from the sega days.
once I was forced to listen to it I immeadiately took a liking to it.
Can someone post the Lauryn Hill Unplugged 2.0. I would really appreciated it.
@ complex
i can’t help it might be my favorite song on that roots..black thought murdered that verse
@ millionsdizzle – Blu’s appeal is that he’s got spit game for days…i’ve voiced my displeasure about his choice of beats on here, ad nauseum…but there’s no denying the kid’s lyrical capabilities…as a emcee yourself, you should be able to appreciate his multis, his punchlines and his ability to ride just about any beat…the funny thing is, the shit i’d like to hear him murk (premo, pete rock, 9th) is way simpler to rap over than what he’s doing now.
Yeah, that Below The Heavens CD cover looks extra gay. He looks like a fruity ass ludacris in need of a shave.
Respect is dope though
Although I think Blu is a JAMMIN’ emcee, I haven’t taken that C.R.A.C. cd to the lab like I should’ve by now cuz nothing particularly stuck out the first time I listened to it, but I’ll peep it now.
De La Soul fan that I am.
@ TC: I knew YOU wouldn’t be feeling the C.R.A.C album!!! LOL!!! Like my ninja AmpGoonz said, you have to be OPEN-MINDED to appreciate the music dude. Give it a try TC, you just might like it homie.
hahahahaha i knew he looked like somebody. maybe i’ll check him out
LOL @ Flea…
Its not that I ain’t feeling it, I just don’t see the big draw in music that’s different just to be different. The beats are lacking melody, the subject matter is on some inside joke shit and yes, Blu doesn’t even rap as much you think he would. Definitely an acquired taste, and not exactly my flavor but I tend not to get involved speaking on alternative Hip-Hop. Its too subjective…
praying this duo doesn’t come out with a sex tape…
Blu’s got a very distinct voice. I was leery too b/c so many were raving about him. But I listened & liked it. The voice & his “Everyman” content.
@Flea- I absolutely CANNOT wait until Rock The Bells crosses the border.
@ T-Dot: You’re ass better make it to that concert man!!! LOL!!! This show is a once and lifetime event that no hiphop lover should miss; I’ll be at the gates EXTRA early to get a good spot.
Yeah I’m thinkin it might top Eckofest.
I’ma show up early at the gate too.
