How ironic the title might seem.
So the cops who murdered, I’m sorry – allegedly murdered Sean Bell are acquitted. Why am I not surprised? All I’m going to say is this:
Peruse the front page of the New York Daily News website. While all three men charged with Sean Bell’s murder are acquitted, look at next headline below – “Judge Gives Max To Wesley Snipes.” So you’re saying I can make it rain with a 50 bullet barrage and go free but get the book thrown at me for a failure to pay taxes?
Amadou Diallo.
Patrick Dorismond.
The family of Maria Herrera.
Timothy Stansbury.
Now, Sean Bell.
And that’s not even the whole list, sadly.
We cannot begin to fathom the pain endured by the family and friends of these victims, who themselves have been victimized by the NYPD. We wish them strength through these trying times and extend our most profound condolences.
And to the deceased, may they all rest in eternal peace and may justice one day be served.

eeeeeh
there is no secret being made as to what ‘really’ matters
A mans life is less important than money.
not to split hairs, but there’s no dispute over whether they shot him or not, so you don’t have to say “allegedly.” what was in question was whether the cops acted carelessly in using their weapons…i think it’s obvious that they did…but let’s not make this thing too racial, two of the three offending officers – including the undercover who fired the first shots – were also black…i think the point is that, apparently, the police are above the laws they swear to uphold…time and time again, police go on trial facing heinous charges, with documented, even videotaped, evidence, and they go free…i don’t hink cops should be able to have a judge decide their case…it’s too close of a fraternity between cops, prosecutors and judges…they should have an independant prosecutor specifically to deal with the police, and they (cops) should have to have their cases decided by juries…maybe that way they’d think about their image and do the right thing.
^^^among cops, prosecutors and judges
U stilla Nigga!!!
Our country tears of thee..liberty..that will never be.. no way not in America
No matter how much ur ass get paid…..
Shot by the cops at a traffic stop ……
AMERICA!!!!!!
sherm – while i do agree that, with regards to the officers involved, it cannot be made a “racial” incident due to the color of two of them, it is a racial issue simply because this is the norm whenever the victim is a person of color. i truly cannot remember the last time there was an incident involving the nypd shooting a presumably innocent white person – it may have happened, but those cases are so few and far between that i can’t remember hearing about it.
therefore, this is proof that once you join the nypd, you are no longer defined by race; “brothers behind the blue wall” is the fraternity.
and ain’t it ironic that the chief of the policeman’s union’s last name is “lynch”.
wake up world.
levar – i agree, i was just pointing that fact out just in case people weren’t following the case…people of color have been subject to the vast, vast majority of police brutality, harrassment and (what i’m calling) murder…the fact that there have been black officers involved in some of these cases just makes the situations that much more complicated…is it that, as police officers, they are united in racial harmony with each other but against citizens of color? is it that, as police officers (regardless of color), they see people of color as being more likely to commit crime, and therefore deal with them differently? whatever it is, the shit is just wrong…each individual should be dealt with as a unique situation with it’s own special circumstances…anything less is criminal and racist.
I wander how Bill O’Reilly will try to spin this incident
I feel like all that bashing they did regarding Rev. Wright and his comments…doesn’t this verdict justify everything he was saying.
N.Y. STAND UP…
and stop trippin off “Rap Beef” and get witht he real enemy
NYPD !!!!
Once again the cops and the powers that be do what they want, when they want how they want.
Unarmed, 50 shots fired, murdered, and the murderers walk?!?!?!?!
How?
No trial by jury but instead the judge let them off the hook? Hmmm
Secret Society Satan friends in high places come in handy again. Could you imagine if your loved one was murdered the day you were to marry them by some goons.
And the goons walked? With no consequences at all?
Is this the middle east where police can do what they want similar to Blackwater and slaughter civilians with no repercussions?
Never forget Sean Bell and pray for Tarika Wilson and her 1 year old baby. Tarika was also murdered unarmed by the police in a failed “no knock” raid. Her infant child was also seriously injured by rouge police. This tragedy took place in Lima Ohio The officer in that case is scheduled to go to trial July 28th. Let’s pray for justice once……
I’ve included a download link for a song i wrote almost three years ago. But sadly is still more relevant then ever……

Their like a mafia with under bosses
And capos, Gestapo
The boys in blue
Rubber and steel bullet poppers
They’ll spray you unarmed
Say that they saw a gun palmed
Your car ventilated
Penetrated in your front yard
Your little sisters in the window
Hollering but silent
No sound is coming out
Your mom is doubled over in pain
Holding her stomach on the floor
Right in front of the couch
Ain’t no cameras ain’t no witness
It’s just business in the trenches
Dark angel visits camouflaged with a badge and uniform
Not only blue
These muthafuckers are really dressed up like their army men
Sub machine guns, bullet proof shields
And ballistic boots tucked into cargo pants
And we ain’t got no chance
Now that Johnny Cochrans dead
I watched the coppers pop his head
Another soldier out their dead
Carry a concealed cell phone
You might catch 50 shots
So I’m a shine my spotlight on
These filthy city cops
We Don’t Run
We Don’t Hide
Columbus Police Department
We’ve got pride
Crooked Judges
And Prosecutors
Are not to confuse us
With the 85′s
Their mission is protect and serve
Protect they shit
And then they serve our asses
Shooting grenades thru our windows
Filled with poison gasses
Kicking our doors down
Like showdowns with western actors
But when we broke down on the highway
Do they slow down?
They speed right pass us
Probably laughing spitting
Crumbs on they self
You know the type
Wrestling jocks in high school
They get a badge and lose control
Of their self
Ego trips and power issues
Evil shit these cowards into
They daddies pump the shit
Into they mental at an early age
That their superior
To negroes, latinos, or any other race
Where the sun has kissed our skin
Back in the day
You know they’d be in the Ku Klux Klan
But now you catch with a crew cut
And a beer gut sandwiched in-between Kevlar vests
Increased police presence
Only increase depression
Among minorities ignore the beast
And beat oppression
The flow is ferocious
And the rhyme is teaching lessons
Because the cops have a profile
Riding with no seat belt
Equals suspected weed possession
Imagine what no taillight get’s ya
So until that’s fixed up
I’m driving in my rear view mister
Ain’t no telling when I’ll become a felon
For just being myself!!!
We don’t run
We don’t hide
Columbus police department
We’ve got pride
Crooked judges and prosecutors
Are not to confuse with the 85′s

Just because 2 of the officers were black doesn’t mean this case isn’t about race. No matter what color the officers were, they saw a group of black men, dressed in urban clothing and assumed they have committed and or were about to commit a crime. We assume that the black officers wouldn’t be so quick to assume that; because more than likely they or someone they know went through the same in their lives. But sadly this is not always the case.
I can’t even begin to express my disgust at the legal system. Like Drew Ricketts inadvertently pointed out “Snipes got more time than T.I.”
and killer cops walk free…again. Now I know there are a bunch of you law enforcement guys out there feeling like the heat is on all of you. But seriously, when was the last time a high profile case like this ended in the cops being convicted? I mean, not even reckless endangerment??? My man reloaded and kept squeezing outside a club and thats not reckless? Nobody was endangered?
Guzman gets shot…what, 19times? SERIOUSLY? That’s not endangering somebody.
No gun, no nothing, and 3 headshots and that’s still not endangerment, let alone attempted manslaughter…not even a petty charge.
wow.
Fuck anybody who says anything about the criminal history of Bell and his people. If ex-cons dont deserve the right to life, then they should give LIFE sentences to everybody.
fuckouttahere!

“Ahhh what a beautiful day to listen to some Ice Cube. Amerikkka with the triple “K?” Why hell yes…”
what we witness today will continue for years to come. and what hurts the most is there’s nothing most of us can do but take justice in your own hands……. i would rant more but outta respect to the family’s ….im’a chill.
“every brother ain’t a brother”…
the sh*t’s racial….
@ contra …
with regard to what you said about endangerment – didn’t some of the evidence brought into the trail show that one of the officer’s bullets traveled far enough to pierce the window of the nearby rail station?
i mean … (sigh). i just know what to do the next time i get a jury duty notice in the mail.
*trial
Yep. There’s footage of the train station too. I’d look it up, but I’m at work…
the first question that came to me was…
how could a jury acquit the officers?
then i was listening to the news and they mentioned the judge and i remembered that our legal system lets the defendants decide for either a jury trial or a judge trial…obviously the cops opted for the judge…THEY GET THEIR CHECKS WITH THE SAME SIGNATURE ON THEM….UNCLE SAM!!!
Did anyone really expect justice to be served?
As far as those black cops go, sometimes they’re even more racist than the white cops. Police in general are trained to racially profile black men & with the support of the legal system, will continue to do so. That’s why I sorta respect L.A. for popping off after the Rodney King verdict. I’m not with all the violence but something has to be done. As a Black Man, I feel powerless against a society that would rather see Me dead or behind bars than see Me succeed.

I’m a nigga with a ‘S’ on his chest

It’s wrong to say that because two of the officers were black, this case has nothing to due with race. I see people using this argument all the time, but it is baseless, looks like a valid argument, but in reality it hold to truth. KRS said it in “BLACK COP”.
Thirty years, there were no black cops
You couldn’t even run, drive round the block
Recently police trained black cop
To stand on the corner, and take gunshot
This type of warfare isn’t new or a shock
It’s black on black crime again nonSTOP
Black cops are either black men who want to help their community by joining the force and bringing a black perspective OR they many black cops are officers whohave to work harder to gain acceptance, many black officers would try to separate themselves from the black community to gain acceptance by the white officers and also “beat the heads” of blacks to maintain order and show their toughness. remember BOYZ in the Hood, that crooked ass cop? Black cops are part of this racist ass system, they are slaves, and have become the white man’s tool of destruction, so this is definitely a racial thing.
It’s a lot more complex than this, but it’s friday, and the weather’s so breezy.
RIP to all those lost to mindless police brutality, One day justice will be served. Cold hard justice.
also,
It’s ironic how those that are supposed to protect us are those that we fear the most.
fuck da police
Why are any of you surprised.
Popo is a tool of the state.
We need to be visionary with ideas of how to police our own hoods and of how to hold popo accountable.
I call it the divine two-fer.
The problem is that We are scared of our own children.
In fact, we are more scared of our own children than we are scared of the police.
Yeah. I f-cking said it.
