All Eyez On Buck…

I’m loving quite a bit of what Buck’s been putting out lately, especially this “All Eyez…” track. It’s got a slick, hungry type spit, similar to verses & energy he displayed on his debut album.
However, can Buck have success outside of the Unit? He’s not The Game, who flat out roared past everyone when he first appeared on the scene & proudly wore the rally flag for a whole region. Thus, he doesn’t have a devoted following, outside of those who still lace their G-Unit Reeboks each & every morning.
Conceptually, he’ll have to expand & show some type of depth, growth & ability to go further than tales of a life lived before the fame. And as far as personality goes, he has to decide which way to go, instead following his current path of flip-flopping a la Game, because his recent contradictory comments show signs of a guy floundering & flailing his arms trying to escape drowning.
But what Buck has managed to do is prove himself as an artist with a tremendous voice that doesn’t grate on the ears of too many and an eye for lyrical detail. Also, putting my male ego aside, I think it’s safe to say he’s a ladies choice as well (P explained it to me one day). But while his underdog status is part of his appeal, he’ll have to continue to fight his way up the ranks if he wants to stand alone and outside of the shadows of Curtis.

I’m stoked that he’s not on G-Unit anymore… if that’s the case. I think he’s starting to head to a more intellectual (maybe wrong word choice, but same general direction) place with what he’s doing, which is always a good look, especially when you consider how fantastic his delivery/voice is.

I been a Buck fan since his first joint. That album surprised the shit out of me…I didn’t think it was gonna be that good. “Prices On My Head” still gets massive burn. Keep putting out good music, my dude, you can never lose that way.
On a sports tip, RIP to Steve McNair’s NFL carreer. Dude played WELL through so many injuries, got the MVP, came one measly yard short of a championship, but still one of the most solid and underrated QB’s in recent memroy.

The main thing I respect about Buck (and to a certain extent Tony Yayo) is that he kept it grimey and stayed away from the sing-a-long hooks formula; once Banks started getting in that bullshit I new it was a wrap for him.

I think the Cosby album is tooo funny, back in the day Cosby had a couple of musical albums and they were pretty good. To see him do a video with those sunglasses on, rapping about how detrimental rap-music is, I would die from the irony and hilarity!
Buck is okay, he dropped some heat on the drama-mixtapes and his first album was good but the problem with him is he talks a lot too much BS, like the shit he was saying about not getting any royalties, this while 50 helped him out and gave him money in too many occasions, so much he still owes 50.
I consider that a disloyal bitch move and it wasn’t the only game-like bitchmove he made against his partners.
And his voice is great indeed but I don’t see him replacing Pac with the lyrics.
He just misses some intellectual knowhow to upgrade his lyrics and that’s why I think he probably need 50 and the unit more than 50 and the unit needs him.

I’ve heard it’s a rockfestival and them rockdudes obviously don’t want to hear club hip-hop coming from Jay-Z.
Ice-T, Rage against the Machine, Necro, those are the kind of acts that get respect from the rockcrowd.
The chance is too big for shiny Hiphop-acts to get booed of stage at a rrandom ock-festival so I also really don’t understand what Jay wants to do over there.
