As if he needed any more selling points. I’ve been buying this man’s party line since he took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 backing the wind-surfing, supremely-coifed, Pete-Carroll-esque John Kerry.
Barack Obama has always had my vote.
Now he has my heart.
I happened across a recent issue of US Magazine while waiting for an appointment today, and saw my favorite candidate on the cover. The tag was something to the effect of – “He’s Just Like US.”
The article itself focused on the finer points of the man’s everyday life, such what he thinks of Oprah’s backing him and whether he wears boxers vs. briefs (come on, US, step your game up. That question is tired, circa 1992.) But what really caught my attention – what wholeheartedly solidified my willingness to drop everything in life and join the Obama ’08 campaign trail, should he but ask – was his answer to “What’s your favorite TV show.”
My man said The Wire.
“It’s not a happy show, but it’s addictive,” he said.
Amen.
We all know TSS is a huge proponent of all things The Wire. But the fact that I can now envision Obama sitting on his Yes We Can tour bus, watching Omar get done by Kennard or Slim Charles pop Cheese or Snoop say “How my hair look?” and maybe, maybe, maybe going “OOOOHHHH!!!” at the same time as me… well that’s enough to make me vote for him for President, Supreme Chancellor, Knower Of All Things and Scientific Fact Creator For Everything Heretofore.
You know what else he co-signed?
Hot sauce on everything (+1)
Stevie Wonder falling off stage (+1… but kind of wrong)
Britney Spears and Paris Hilton being wholly consumed with moral deprivation (+2)
At some point in the article, Obama said he could “bust a move,” on the dance floor, followed directly by “as they say.” I’m not sure as to which “they” he refers, but I can say with a fair level of confidence it wasn’t Young M.C. I’m afraid his abilities on the floor could never usurp this slip-up. (…-1)
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some “Obama Wins at Life” posters to sprinkle around town.

One of my favorite emcees finally dropped his mixtape today.

I felt it appropriate for this post.
Obama… I’m in SoCal where dude’s about as popular as Kat Williams. I’m still trying to figure out who are all these “blue collar whites” types that are infatuated with HRC like the media keeps saying. All the BCW’s i know are fiending for McCain. Hard.
BO seems to be big with the “Blue Collar black folks” out here. As for HRC, i know it’s just one state, albeit a big one, but Hil seems to have all the white mid-to-upper middle class folks on lock.
Anyway, bust a move… it’s either a generational slip–dude is like 45 ya’ know. or it’s a cultural thing. He been hanging around too many white folks that still see hiphop as a joke without context, so phrases like that still inspire condescending laughter more than anything.
hey, it’s early out here still and i haven’t blogged or clocked in yet.
sue me.
Can someone up the whole season AGAIN? haha. Or a good link to the torrent.
@ Black Canseco
Up here in the Bay it’s Obama all day every day.
Obama ’08
“Because Hillary is a CUNT”
Obeezy look just like Malcolm in that flic..
PS-
HAHA@ “Pete Carroll-esque John Kerry.” Good observation.
^Glad I’m not the only one who saw that.
“Bro, wasn’t losing a national title enough? Now you’ve got to lose an ELECTION???”
In my lifetime…
I usually don’t pay attention to articles like this, because when it comes to politics I’m strictly about candidates policies and if can they be implemented, I like to see shit get done (K.I.M.). I don’t think people should be infatuated with their president (It’s being in love with the mailman or any other civil servant) because they’ll will be morel likely to blindly follow him/her and just “accept” his/her decisions.
BUT “Hot sauce on everything” that got me, I can’t even lie haha.
Man…here in NC we plan to do our job in May for Obeezy (thanks for the name Tres).
But I was in DC a couple weekends ago…and I saw mad “soccer moms” with Obamo ’08 stickers on the back of their station wagon Volvo’s…the man truly is a uniter!!!

YESSSS SIRRR!!! FRANK’s HOTSAUCE is the SHIT! The cats at TSS have great taste.
But on the real, if you want Obama in the oval office the most important thing you can do is get your apathetic, slacker friends to register and then get them an absentee ballot. the ab ballot is the best thing smokin because some people are too lazy vote and others are willing but things fall apart. So do what you do TSS.
A black man for president? Now that’s an Obamanation.

Press release
Globalization is now an accomplished fact. Its most important practical effect is that events, which can occur anywhere on the planet, affect all individuals, communities, and societies regardless of their location. The presidential election of a certain country often directly affects hundreds of millions, living in other parts of the world. This is particularly true in the case of the 2008 US presidential election. The US presidential election in 2008 is no longer a US internal affair! In the age of globalization, no election is! Our political choices are given a global dimension.
The objective of http://www.iwanttovotetoo.com is to raise the democratic elections of different countries to the global level and to operate a global platform for expressing opinions as a free, interest neutral service.
By using the http://www.iwanttovotetoo.com website anybody – even people living in the most obscure locations – can communicate their opinions that are relevant to the candidates of democratic elections that are taking place in any country of the world.
When we decide who will be the next president of the United States, we form an opinion based on our value system. US Presidential candidates are known to all, they are in the spotlight of media attention. Everybody forms an opinion about the candidates and – given the opportunity – chooses among them.
The short-term objective of the http://www.iwanttovotetoo.com web site is to establish the framework and channels of expressing opinions globally, and to extend it to all prospective democratic elections in the long run.
It may be educational for the elected politicians of a given country to learn about the preferences and value choices of people living in faraway places. The decision of the country’s own voters, however, is even more interesting for the analysts and politicians of that respective country. The web site does not take sides and does not try to influence anybody. It exclusively collects data and assembles a database of collected results, which may be freely used, analyzed, and interpreted by the public.
If you find it worthwhile, please help disseminate the information about the web site to as many people as possible, so that even more people can cast their vote for the presidential candidates of the Unites States on November 4 and for other prospective democratic elections worldwide.
The service operator has conducted negotiations on issues arising in connection with Internet voting, on this web site with the office of the ombudsman of data protection, wherein all arrangements were approved. Should you have further questions or require assistance that is relevant to the service, please contact us at info@iwanttovotetoo.com . We would be pleased to be of service.
