Little Brother Live
by TSSCrew

After a month long European tour Little Brother was back on the road just days after returning home. The first of two Cali gigs, the group got into Sacramento on Friday night, only to board another plane the next morning to head south to San Bernadino for the Paid Dues Festival. They were exhausted and physically drained by the time they took the stage in Sacramento, but they didn’t let it effect the show. Just as they do with every other endeavor, they went in and killed it like true professionals.

Aside from making great records, Phonte and Pooh know how to rock a show. From the songs they play, to the order of the songs, down to the between song banter, they got it down. They play off the crowd and, most importantly, play off each other. Singer Darien Brockington worked as an integral part of the group’s set, and their DJ, DJ Flash, stayed involved and wasn’t just a stage prop. It’s a rap show worth $15 and I can’t say that about too many other cats.

The clip above captures all of the mentioned attributes – comedic interaction with the crowd, stage presence, a well executed performance and smooth transition between songs (“Step My Game Up” to “Slow It Down”). They are one of the few groups whose skill and talent matches their heart, and for this reason Little Brother will be around making music as long they choose.
