Take It Back…
AUDIO By Gotty™ on March 22, 2008 at 7:17 pm
As you can see by the note that I received with these, they could definitely be worth something right about now lol.
Dope find nonetheless & some of the outfits these cats have on are outlandish.
What’s worse is that, @ some time, someone saw fit to give Def Jef a fuckin trading card lol.
Perhaps ten years from now, when ringtones have become disposable commodities we’ll laugh @ them as well as we’ll have some technological advancement that allows a rapper to be zapped to your door to do a voice for less than $4.99.

More pics of the cards & thanks to LC for sending them this way. I’ve got them securely wrapped up in a safe place, right along with my cassette copy of Common’s “Resurrection” single. All the relics I’ve got stashed are gonna make me have the flyest time capsule when they dig it up & see what I’m holdin.

Damn, I don’t even think those cards ever existed up here in Canada!!! It would be funny to see if they made a comeback though; I can see it now: “I’ll trade you my 50 Cent rookie card for your Jay-z & Beyonce card!” Ha Ha!!
Ill trade you my def jef for your roxanne shante!
Cool C for one Professor Griff and a Chi Ali
MC Shan for Canibus & Poster Boy (draft picks)
@ Gotty
don’t be clownin’ on Def Jef…back then, I’d say he warranted a card! lol
& that Prince pic…? wow…before the androgyny set in…haha
Lol at the Def Jef. Niggas is crazy.
haha, i got two packs of those a few years ago… i forget where, i think maybe at a dollar store.
one pack had doubles of vanilla ice; the other had two MC Hammers. with different pictures. i lost.
@ Gotty – brief scratch at the beginning of track 6 on Bill Withers….right?
I’ll trade PE for LL and I’ll throw in Hammer!
see now…if Vanilla Ice got a card, then EVERYBODY ELSE in rap at the time deserved a card…including Def Jef.
lol
Turk – Not 100% sure. My main man Suave shot me that link.
Gotty – yeah ….. its from myjazzworld.blogspot.com
i had the mc hammer card… but it was the limited edition card with a piece of his hammer pants imbedded in it… proper!!!
the hip-hop gods were shining upon you that day. lol
i think trading cards would b great as far as getting the kids into hip hop….and with the growing number of deceased rappers, it sounds like a good investment. big l, 2pac, biggie, pun, and jam master jay cards would sell on ebay for mad dough
i was jus about to ask who that brother lookin like cole from “martin” was – i was still in diapers when he dropped – Wikipedia says he produced the Thats so raven theme… now thats hip hop
UCLA!!!!!!!!!
These are the ones I got…
…and as you can see… Gotty got the “good” pack, on account of I got not one but TWO Yo! MTV Raps posse cards… which is like getting two sticks of that hard ass gum in a pack of Topps baseball cards.
Angry.
My bad…. here’s a link to the cards.

I’m willing to trade Ted Demme for fucking ANYthing.
Michigan State with the win over Pitt!!!! Bring on Memphis!!
I remember being on the playground way back and some kid was tricking me into thinking these were somehow amazing.
I believed him. Went into my secret money stash and gave him $4 for a pack. Back then $4 was like a million.
hahaha I paid $3 for these. Turns out they’ve depreciated in value.
Go State!!!
oh shit….
I was just a wee lil kid when these popped up…..
*kinda wishes he was a lil grown during this age*
wow, how times fly by…..
Jay-z Mary j blige The Heart Of The City mixtape.
