Not crazy about the song. Mainly because I’m tired of songs wit the vocoder effects and because dude didn’t flow at all. Overall it’s pretty boring to me. For such a highly anticipated album, I expected some heat, not some downtempo type track. Video’s coo though.

This kind of reminds me of when Jay released “The Black Album” and was saying it was going to be this classic opus…then the first single was “Change Clothes.” The song was ok, but didn’t make me feel like it was leading in to a classic album…
The song is catchy and I have been mildly addicted to it…however it doesn’t seem like a song that would be included in a “classic” like Weezy is trying to make Carter III out to be.

Can’t say it’s what I was expecting, far from it, but I can’t front, I think it’s a dope song with a dope video. Judging by how many people dislike it, I don’t know if it was the right choice for a 1st single though. I can see why some wouldn’t like the joint as it is a departure from Wayne’s usual antics (the B.A.G. mixtape is the closest thing to it in Wayne’s catalog) & there are others who couldn’t wait to trash it, but Dude is going against the grain & doing something different & obviously having fun doing it. I don’t know how much of it was influenced by the codeine & promethazine but “Lollipop” is synth Pop yet still Hip Hop. The track along with Static on the hook is extremely catchy, seductive even. Definitely different. Haters rev your engines, this joint is gonna be huge.
