Richer Than Ever…

This song was already amazing as it was on Rich Boy’s above average and highly underrated self-titled album. Polow Da Don’s mesmerizing beat with Rich Boy’s unique flow already had me stuck on it immediately, but John Legend’s soulful chorus drew me in even closer. Now in 2008 & albeit late as hell, the remix comes out with arguably the best rapper of all time on it and the self-proclaimed best rapper alive also dropping a surprisingly focused and positive verse. Nas’ verse is equally moving as the first two and ends the song off perfectly. Definitely one of the better remixes of late.

Jeah…loved the original, remix is fire
I know people love Nas and Weezy but Rich Boy’s got the tightest verse out of all of em
Ok, I guess I’m still stuck on the 90s, and admittedly a little bit of a south hater, can some of yall drop your comments on this kid? That song throw some D’s just completley turned me away from him. But I was wrong about Budden, Bubba, and Young Buck after just a listen to the MTv single.
Ciao tutti
Yo, Wayne and Nas definitely rip this one – ‘Lose money chasing women, never lose women chasing money’ siiiiickness.
And while we’re on the topic, anyone else think Wayne ripped up that Jay Rock song?

…I think that’s some hot sauce.
Rich is actually pretty damn good. His album has it’s ups & downs for sure. But the ups, I still find myself singin them shits to this day. Plus Polow laced him. “Boy Looka Here,” & some other track that straight up slip me right now.
*waits on TC to enter these comments & all hell break loose* lol
Why is SEAN GARRETT singing? I hope that’s a demo track for someone
*still waiting on P to comment on that layout hating*
Rich Boy’s album still gets play from me a few times a week. Can’t wait for his next album.
Now if we could get a Let’s Get This Paper Remix…
*crosses fingers*
Excellent post K1ng.
this is the weezy i know and love….
remix is fire…
and Be Lund i agree about that jay rock track…he kills it..
I can’t even listen to rich boi without hatin on his gangsta talk.
I heard this dude was an engineering student, not gangsta.
All those educated cats down south and little brother are
the dudes that keep it real.

Coincidentally, In my African American History class today we were talking about Tuskegee University, and the famous people who had attended the storied institution. Guess who attended Tuskegee briefly before getting his record deal? None other then Rich Boy…ya I was surprised too.
It’s true: Rich Boy was an engineering student at Tuskegee; so what? That means he can’t spit the gangsta talk? I knew (and still know) plenty of smart cats who sling drugs and pack guns on and off campus. Not every thug chills on the block.
p.s.
Gotta love Wikipedia for doing background checks! LOL!!!
Gracias TC
Tuskegee, whatever… just as long as he does what he does well.
Jay ‘hustles’ in boardrooms these days, but that’s not a deterrent from still listening to him.
Tracks flames. Weezy really brings the heat, as does Rich. I love how soulful the hook is, but i was a little dissapointed in NAS’s verse, his shit sounds a little forced…
^ Nah, Nasir goes in…
Equating college w/soft = ignorance lol. I knew killers as well as future/current kingpins sitting in college…& rappers too.
& if you’re saying you can’t listen to cats who aint lived “it”, then you may as well turn off your speakers now.
Art vs Life.
well we our on the subject the subject of rappers and college
some others off top of the head are:
killer mike went to Morehouse College
ice cube was going to ASU when straight outta compton drop
New Chaundon!!!

January is over, time for the mixtapes & albums to start flooding the net!!!
Yeah…killers and rapists are bred in college.
Gotty didn’t you go to school with LA The Darkman?
^ By no means WHAT SO EVER am I saying College = soft. In fact I think my comment was taken out of context. My point was that it was suprising to me that Rich Boy was originally a student at one of the most storied colleges in America period. But now looking at the comments over I guess the responses wern’t necessarily directed towards me.
Anyway kind of interesting when you realise that some people in the industry were doing things like school and not always being a characature their entire life.
YA DIG
Being that I am from Alabama I have drop a few alphanumerics on this.
1Please correct that ASU by saying Zona State. Only ASU I recognize is Alabama State University.
2 I find it odd that Rich Boy going to college and spits gangsta is hard for anyone to adjust to, true gangterdom is committed by the most educated folks every single day.
Fear not a angry uneducated man for they can be tamed and perhaps controlled, fear the educated man with goals.
@ cougar
I don’t think folks will really go @ you for that comment because it really is the way some guys are seen in the eyes of the public. And while thats what sells that kinda thinking should be corrected.
Then again going to college don’t make you smart. And if he went to Skegee from the late 80’s on in, trust me its not all that.. they have a great brand name when it comes to HBCU’s and thats about it . (Not knocking the whole school thing.. I went to college in the same area tho)
@Belve
sorry about that I did mean Arizona state for football,
if i remember correctly
The only thing I really didn’t like about his album (other than the 2-3 shit songs), was the line
Little aggin fuck school, cop five more bricks
when he went to college. Talk about your past, but don’t put down education and glorify selling drugs.
Oh Well.
I love John Legend man. And my lady appreciates the music too if ya know what I mean.
I PLAYED THE ORIGINAL VERSION SO MUCH MY 3 YEAR OLD KNEW THE WHOLE FUCKIN SONG
man yes, when john breaks in i’m like oohh, real smooth..
Could anyone possibly up the Rich Boy album??
Could anyone possibly up the Rich Boy album??
Does anyone have the Prodigy H.N.I.C 2
@ K1NG
I thought he was quoting the “hood mentality”, almost being sarcastic but i don’t have the song ur mentionin’, so i might be outta context.
No matter how hard I try I cant get into this dude at all.
