Labels spend marketing dollars yes, but if your shit ain’t connecting with the people, who’s fault is that really? I didn’t believe for a second Sigel or Freeway got dropped. Why would you drop artists that are basically stars? Like G-Unit, you’re never gonna drop these guys. Just take some time and remarket them if they don’t sell. Freeway got 3 videos, Sigel got 2. You can’t make people “like” anything, no matter how much you promote it. U think Jimmy Iovine is looking @ Stat Quo like “U got a classic album but we’re not putting it out???” I think not…
But why sign artists if You have no intention of trying to help them pop. Yeah, Jay’s an artist but He’s an executive too. You can’t just play with people’s career’s like that.
And Stat has more than enough material to put out a pretty decent album. If I was an artist, I’d rather drop an album while I had a buzz than wait untill the label’s ready but the fans have waited so long that they’ve lost interest.

Peeps gotta realize this is a cut throat business. If you don’t have the drive, no one is gonna help you. Take 50 and Ye’, when no one would sign them, they did they own thing (the had the drive). Then WHEN they got signed, they still didn’t wait on no one. They were their own hype-man. Also, good people get cut all the time. Look at history: Tiki Barber was cut, Ben Wallace, Al Gore, haha. The worked their way up.
Jay-Z’s subject matter is mind-numbingly redundant at this point.

Usually when you see the head artist appear 3X on the album, pop on stage on 106 & Park, and post up in the video, that’s they extent of what they can do. I mean the head artist, they created their own buzz, own successful career, so after they give their artists that push/chance to shine, they have to man up and make things happen on their own. U can’t expect an artist to put their careers on hiatus just to hold their hands through promo runs and things. If there was no Jay,Em, Luda, there would be no Beans,Obie,Shawnna—-in terms of notoriety. So the world keeps spinning….(to the D-O-Double G)…sorry couldn’t help myself LMAO

Jay-z needs to chill out and fall back already! I mean “American Gangster” was great but isn’t it a little too soon to be putting out another project? What’s next? “Reasonable Doubt 2″? “In My Lifetime Vol.4″? “The Black Album 2″? oh let’s not forget “Kingdome Come 2″ which should all be released before 2008 wraps up! He needs to leave the game on a high note and quit pulling these “Jordan comebacks” on the people, but if he decides to make one more album it better be dope and crazy-ill or else it’ll tarnish his legacy a bit. I don’t think he should make continuations of his previous albums, it would be wiser to come up with an entirely new name to cap off his career which would sum it up nicely.
