After an extremely late night in the studio the other night, I woke up around ten in the morning to the video above.
Needless to say, I was weirded out.
Not really by the fact that the Markie Man of Beat-Boxing is branching into kids programs like YO! Gabba Gabba because with his inimitable vocal abilities it seemed like an easy gwop grippage for dude. Nor was it the fact that Nick Jr. was on the TV when I woke up. Simply put the oft-played Fresh Prince reruns are better than anything Comcast has to offer during the wee hours of 3-6 AM.
But what did catch me off guard and shook me outta my state of sleep quite quickly, was this oddball who hosts the show, DJ Lance Rock.
I’ve been lookin’ for a reliable hook on those gans lately. Maybe I ask should get at dude because he has to be blowin’ em real big.

i got a pretty nice custom soundbooth, a AudioTechnica 4033CL mic, an Audiophile midi-interface, an 87 key m-audio keyboard, a couple of Rokit speakers, a three track Phonic mixer, Reason, and i record through Garageband (which really well for a free program).
That P.A. is pretty dope, been on my Pod for a while now…can’t tell if he’s playin’ a character (like Kool Keith) on that album, or not?

My booth works like a champ, and all it is is an old wine cellar we gutted, built an insulated ceiling into, carpeted the walls, foamed the walls (mattrees foam), and then run cords through the other side. we also made a memory foam vocal catcher (for lack of a better word). all in all we spent about 250…and it’s the shit.

Cloverfield was the shit. Once you got passed the jittery camera, you got thrown into a great POV monster movie that was as close to real as you get…especially with monster movies these days (and on this scale).
