Admist all the rumors & rumbles of contract negotiations stalling over money, Jay officially stepped down as the president of Def Jam.

“The rapper, who was named Def Jam president three years ago, said in a statement that it is “time for me to take on new challenges.”


Translation – “It’s not you; it’s me” and proceeds to give the ring back.

As an everyday struggler, you have to admire how Jay made his way from the pj’s all the way up to the boardroom & seemingly has the industry working from the strings attached to his little puppet sticks.

Now the questions left to be answered…

- Who will take over @ Def Jam & help the label remain relevant?

-Now, who will the disgruntled artists on the roster blame if their projects flop?

- And now, it remains to be seen @ this point is what will Jigga do next? Is there really anything left for him to do in the world of rap?
