By sticking to each of their atypical styles, as they typically do, Outkast unquestionably made their presence felt in 2007.

Even though their sole mutual song was for someone else’s compilation and got zero mainstream spins, Daddy Fat Sacks and Three Stacks kept their names in people’s mouths by latching on to some of the hottest songs and remixes of the year.

Andre helped assist the radio-friendly (Lloyd’s “You Remix” and Rich Boy’s “Throw Some Ds Remix”) and those needing his assistance to reach it (Devin the Dude’s “What A Job”), while Big Boi strictly blessed remixes to some of the FM’s biggest hits (Lloyd’s “Get It Shawty,” Diddy’s “Last Night,” Gorilla Zoe’s “Hood Figga” and DJ Khaled’s “I’m So Hood”). On top of those reciprocal rotations, they also helped UGK anchor what could be the Grammy-Award-winning Song of the Year in “International Player’s Anthem.” If that wasn’t enough, both of them took time to participate in visual ventures as well, both live-action and animated.

So, with their bellies bloated and fans demanding more, what does 2008 hold for the boys from East Point?

According to this recent Vibe interview, General Patton says that restless fans can look forward to separate solo albums from each of the group’s two members. He says the first single to his second solo, Sir Luscious Left Foot, will be leaked at midnight on New Years Eve, and that the album will follow soon after.

On the other hand, details on Andre’s album are naturally still up in the air. However, Big Boi did confirm that after both albums hit the shelves, Outkast’s highly anticipated sixth studio album would be on its way and that it will mark their collaborative return to rap.

Outkast fans worldwide, you may now rejoice.
