Red Bull Big Tune Beat - The Wrap Up
GENERAL By Corey Bloom on December 28, 2007 at 6:45 pmIt’s been over a month since Red Bull’s Big Tune finals in Seattle, and it’s taken that long to get most of the pieces together for this final post. In the spirit of TSS it seemed fitting to bring all of the producers together one last time, and instead of trying to explain how dope each artist is, deliver a batch of fresh baked beats to be enjoyed at your leisure. Each of the 12 producers who fought through their regional talent pools to make it to Seattle are the next generation of torch carriers who will guide the music for years to come.
While some of them have already started to make their mark on the rap world, the others aren’t far behind. It’s always rewarding as a listener to watch a musician grow and ultimately get their props, and this collection of tracks is loaded with that kind of potential. Thanks again goes out to Red Bull for amassing such a talented group, and most importantly the producers who made it all happen, and will continue to do so.
You can download & listen to all the beats here (Download Link).

Has anyone noteworthy ever participated/won this competition?
wtf is dj babu doing in this ish???
i mean, no offense to dude. i know he put out a beat tape this summer, and that it’s fresh, but duke has been killing it on the tables for a decade and a half. he’s gotta have a few o.z.’s worth producer in him. i’ll give props where it’s due, i gave a listen or two just from his previous work with dilated and the beat and likwit junkies. i’m glad he’s getting some solo attention, but i’ve barely heard of the rest of the pack.
except for marco polo, who’s port authority was nice. check it out and cop it. i did. features with kardinal offishall, masta ace, wordsworth, ed o.g., large professor, buckshot, kool g rap, supastition, sadat x, a.g., a lot of heat. i rolled to it for awhile when releases were d.o.a.

piff. know the deal…
That Port Authority disc was fire! I made sure I bought that, gotta show love to my fellow Canadians! I don’t understand why DJ Babu was up in this, didn’t he put out like Duck Seazon Vol.1 & 2? Not to mention production credits with Dilated Peoples and Beat Junkies. I think Black Milk is the future when it comes to the beats, plus SoundTrakk, he killed Lupe Fiasco’s album with dope beats.
ARE is my homie, and S1 is dope, but I’m the future.
I’m not getting robbed at next years competition.

That Brainstorm beat is a banger. Does anyone know the sample? I know Ghostface flipped it as well.
Farts In a Jar (S.L.A.B.ed.)
WTF
how much are the sales of ‘The Cool’ in this moment, the disc does not go extremely right and thus Lupe? it’s a very good album but good rappers do not even make 100 000, so?
