Am I seeing triples, or is XXL about to press three of the same unbuckled belt Weezy covers?

I personally like the mag and would happily subscribe if I didn’t lose those annoying inserts the second I copped an issue. But, plain & simple, they play favorites. This is Birdman Jr.’s third time gracing their cover in the past year.

As I’ve noted below, Young Money ain’t the only one who gets that superstar adulation & overexposure from YN’s monthly mag.

Jay-z – December ’06, December

TI - March, July

Young Jeezy – January/February, June

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not “hatin’.”

As far as market share goes, they’re without a doubt the number one hip-hop publication out these days. However, their formula has been hittin’ snooze for about the past year now. Aside from their credibility catchall November issue, they take about as many chances as an acrophobic at Cedar Point.

Our Yellow Bro. Wilson better hope Julia Beverly doesn’t get a better distribution deal because Weezy can only say so much.
