Galvanized Steel…
LOOSIES By Gotty™ on November 6, 2007 at 6:48 amA behind the scenes look @ Luda’s video for “Down In Tha Durty.” With Cliff’s focus elsewhere, rightfully so, I guess there’s going to be a scramble for KOTS crown with new mixtapes, videos & material popping up each day.
Pray that Wayne doesn’t pick up his pace.
And I pretty much figured everyone had seen this video with MTV/BET’s penchant for repeatedly playing stuff so I didn’t post it. After a few emails, I’m realizing everyone hadn’t therefore…
Lupe Fiasco – Superstar (Feat. Matthew Santos) Video
Lupe done went, got a chunky budget & got Hype to help out for the cause.
All those feeling this song, raise your hand

Who’s with me?
These two articles regarding Radiohead’s latest & the whole digital campaign behind it were interesting…
ComScore: 2 Out of 5 Downloaders Paid for Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ (Average Price: $6)
For Radiohead Fans, Does “Free” + “Download” = “Freeload”?
What does it all mean?
- If the numbers are correct, Radiohead grossed $2,736,000.
- Contrary to public opinion, it looks as if when Americans do pay for downloaded tunes, they pay more than their foreign counterparts…that is, if I believe the stat reports & honestly think that many people paid for a free album.
- If you too build some hype & following, Mr. Myspace Artist, you can sell your shit for $6 and get that Jim Jones/Koch money without any backing. Keep flooding us with those bulletins.
Seriously though, you have to be “credible” and fans have to know you’re putting out good music…so I’m not sure if this would work for rap. Let’s see how Budden fairs with MM3, which he’s got up for preorder right now.
Speaking of which, NahRight has up the “official unofficial” trailer for MM3.
Last but not least, while getting my digital news on I found this Wired article to be a goodfaith effort @ helping you pilfer music any way you can.
“Cheat the Music Industry: Never Pay for Music”
But, given the widespread e-hysteria after Oink, let’s hope this is just a fake dive, quarterback bootleg play…because if you didn’t know about AB before, you now know…and so does everyone who probably shouldn’t know.

I read in an article somwhere that more people illegally downloaded “In Rainbows” than did the legal way. That’s how I got it.
That “Superstar” track is tight, I ‘ve been playing it for months now. It definitely has a unique vibe to it, Lupe’s new album should be on point. It’s cool to download and all if you want to try before you buy, but at the same time I don’t understand how people can say that they love an artform but don’t support it. If you both download and cop albums then cool, but if you ain’t copping shit then at least go to a show. I support downloading to the extent that it helps expand peoples’ awareness of other artists, but I don’t support it for those who say that “music is wack nowadays” but still download a whole album anyway. Regardless of what the music industry does and no matter how many new business models they come up with, you can’t beat free and technology will just keep on killing them.
Matthew Santos is really impressing me; He burned up American Terrorist on Food and Liquor. With the lyrics Lupe dropped on that EMU “freestyle” (I am pretty sure it’s the title track off of The Cool), it looks like this album could be as good as the last.
Budden is that dude too; effortlessly merked Ransom and while I think Royce is very talented, I wouldn’t go making too many more remarks about the King of New Jerz…
I’m feeling that Superstar. It’s about to on the iPod right now.
See? This is why I fucks with TSS.
^ It’s about to GO on the iPod right now.
Rakim, Ghostface and Brother Ali tore the house down in Seattle on Sunday night.
It was my first time seeing Rakim live and he wrecked shit. He ran through all the classics with the crowd spittin right along with him. Shit was dope. No hype man, just Rakim and a live band..(the Rythem Roots All Stars)
From what I saw of Brother Ali’s set (I was late) he Killed it as well. He encouraged people to buy his albums at the club, but also said to go home and dl them if you want to spend your loot on a drink..The crowd went off when he said that shit.
Ghostface also killed it but he had the Theodore Unit with him and that shit kind of took away from his performance IMO. To me it was like Ghost with a bunch of hype men..Fools in the crowd were throwng lit blunts on the stage and Ghost and crew would stop to smoke. ..Classic. All in all well worth the hangover that I was sportin’ all day at work yesterday.
So far I’ve only heard two new tracks from “The Cool”, anybody got any new stuff?
so yeah lupe is really killen it on that lyrical shit
All due respect, does Weezy even have a pace? If he hasn’t been crowned yet – word to Denny Green – I don’t know when it’s going to happen.
That Lupe track is some pretentious trash. And getting Sting to sing on that shit is going to eat into his budget big time.
I’m feelin that song. Wonder when Ghostface is gonna come out with a video for Celebrate.
Lupe is the Kaney’s son ?
Im feeling that too….nevermind the negativity, just feels good!
when music is diversified that happens. holla
