Rich Boy – Let’s Get This Paper
T.C. will love this because, internally, we’ve been having a debate about where Rich Boy’s should be ranked amongst the everything else that released this year.
The sad thing is so many people wrote buddy off as a one-hit-wonder because of “Throw Some D’s.” Although this vid is dumb late, it’s still a good choice and a quality track, if not one of the best off the album. Reportedly, Rich paid for the video out of his own pocket.
Regardless of preconceived opinions of the album, fate struck & son hit the scene with a hot single, supporting it with an album blessed with some of Polow’s best production work to date. While he was immediately typecast as another Southern rapper talking about cars, there were a few tracks, like “Let’s Get This Paper,” that highlighted that there was more to Rich than meets the ear. Thus, one of the better albums of the year that you didn’t listen to is waiting on your C drive. Give it a spin.
Shieeet – Clay Davis, I still play “Boy Looka Here” at least once a week.

“Boy Looka Here” = Serious Bizness
Joe Budden is no longer signed to Def Jam Records. Despite the the circumstances, Regular Joe stated that he is satisfied with the decision and is enthuisiastic about the next stage of his career.
In an interview, Joey had this to say, “I’m just happy we were finally able to cut all ties. I feel like I have all the talent in the world, but for some reason was never able to showcase it there.” He continued, “I’m looking forward to whatever God has in store for me, and Joe Budden fans should know – today is a beautiful day.”
Although Joey’s self-titled album went gold in 2003, he did not release a second album on Def Jam. His classic club banger “Pump It Up,” which was used in an NBA Campaign was definately a big score. The label held a listening session for Joey’s second release entitled, The Growth, however the album never materialized. Despite complications with the release of his second album, Regular Joe remained on the scene via the internet, and several popular mixtapes, namely Mood Muzik 1 & 2.
In an interview, Def Jam president Jay-Z said that he wasn’t sure how to release Budden as an artist. “If you just want to throw an album out there then next week, [fine]… [Then] you’re recording [songs] about how we didn’t support it. We could do that,” Jay-Z said. “We could do that tomorrow. I don’t think that what he wants. I don’t think that’s what he needs. Maybe…I don’t know.” There are rumors that a 2003 lyrical sparring session between the two might have led Jay-Z to harbor resentment against Joey. However, Jay denies ever holding any grudges.
Joey has yet to make any statements on just what his next move will be. In any case, Mood Muzik 3 has been highly anticipated, especially on the internet.

Rich Boy is that dude, he has great potential he is a great artist but I feel if e is publicized right he will be better
Whoa….
Never heard this song, and watching that video gave me goosebumps. And Rich Boy ain’t that dude for me.
That shit’s gotta be the best song on the album.
Every blog has this video posted. it’s a movement hehe
I fucks w/ some Richboy. I gave him more spins then 50,Kayne and T.I. put together.
Money my motivata/my brain my moneymaka…
I still bump both his album and his tape with Drama. Rich Boy has more to him for sure.
That video was great, it’s nice to see him acknowledge that he’s got other shit to say, most of the time those tracks just stay buried on the album instead of put out for singles. Let’s hope this catches at least a little bit of air time.
Mans are sleepin’ if they still ain’t of this track. Seriously, over look the HustlerBallerGangstaMack tip, and open your eyes..
I remember reading somewhere, maybe here, too lazy to look it up, but I read an interview where he said that his whole album was songs like “Let’s Get This Paper,” but the label wouldn’t back it so he just released the songs that the label enjoyed. He also said that he is going to try and release more songs like this on his next album.
I think his album was one of the more ENTERTAINING albums of the year for sure.
I listened to it when it came out. The album was shit on a disc
can anyone put up a new link to the album? i missed it first time around and that video is nice…
Can’t stunt, I’m feeling the Rich Boy joint but I still don’t know if I’d listen to his whole CD. A lil’ T.I.ish, I must admit, but respectable none the less. Anybody got a link to ATCQ’s “Beats, Rhymes & Life”?
Rich Boy’ album is good. When it came out it was that and Devin’ playing constantly. It was my diamond in the rough til this I guess, good thing too, he deserves to be taken seriously.
