Like most heads out there, I’m in the middle of a Jigga Listening session today, so I don’t got the time to get deep on the latest. So, here’s a quick run-down of current news and some that we might’ve missed over the past week.

• American Gangster doesn’t even drop for a week, and Jay sold out all venues for the concurring tour in less than one minute. Hannah Montana better watch out, ‘cause Hova might be taking over her spot for hottest tickets on the black market.

• Staying in The Boroughs, Jimmy Jones will be releasing a free mixtape called, Harlem’s American Gangster, on November 6. With Dame Dash hosting it, and the not so subtle title, he’s obviously trying to steal some shine from the Diamond King. The real storyline, though, may be that it drops the day before Cam’ron’s much-anticipated return to the mixtape scene. I guess only time will tell if their purple blood is bad…

• Since The Louie Vuitton Don can never have enough buzz, Yeezy has decided to pen a book filled with personal philosophies he’s cultivated along his path to super-stardom. Thank You and You’re Welcome is due out sooner than later, and is expected to be full of teddy bears.

• Baby’s son is claiming that he’s got “a crazy track” for Slim Shady for his upcoming album The Carter III, which got pushed back to 1st quarter 2008. People are either going to absolutely love this, or tear it to pieces.

• Tupac, who was recently named the eighth top-grossing dead celebrity, will have his third Greatest Hits album drop on December 4. It will be two separate releases, Thug and Life, and each will feature one previously unreleased song.

• The self-proclaimed King of Jersey, Joe Budden, gave Allhiphop.com an in-depth preview of his highly anticipated mixtape, Mood Muzik 3. There’s still no release date, but you Budden fiends can pre-order it right here.

• With the fifth anniversary of Jam Master Jay’s death upon us, MTV is giving fans the opportunity to see the inside of his legendary studio via an online walk-though. Sad to think it’s been that long, but this exclusive is a nice reminder of the legacy he left behind.

• Apparently, the cover shot from J-Lo’s new album cost $60K. Considering it looks like the movie poster for a new Alien vs. Predator movie, I’m sure P could’ve done 10x better with a quarter of the cost.

• On the heels of the federal shutdown of Oink, movie/television host TV-Links.co.uk was closed permanently last week for pirating illegal content. It’s a shame, ‘cause I really wanted to watch Superbad again…

• Kelis’ milkshake has officially stopped bringing anyone to the yard over at Jive. After the dismal response from her last LP, Kelis Was Here, the label has dropped her like a hot brick.

• In an upcoming interview with HHNLive.com, Angie Stone speaks on her baby daddy D’Angelo, Clive Davis and her former label, J Records. Although she stays classy, she lets ‘em have it. On D’Angelo, “I’m really not feeling him right now and he really needs to get his shit together.”

• Lastly, since we’re so busy over here at TSS, we never got around mentioning the terrible news that Lyfe Jennings’ protégé Lala Brown was found dead last week. For reasons still unknown, Brown and her boyfriend were murdered in a Milwaukee studio. Our prayers go out to their families.
