Each day, I end up with a “theme song” or that song that starts my day out and pushes me thru on a focused level. For Monday and today, it’s been a repeat of two songs which is kinda unusual.
I don’t know about you, but when the seasons start to come up on a change, my mind starts to shift & begins to focus on things I want to accomplish in the upcoming months. No, money isn’t everything in life. But, to get the things you want out of life, sometimes it takes money to do it. When summer started, I was really in that mode by being fiscally more responsible, saving instead of spending. And as we finally had a break in temperature (Imagine weather forecasters calling 95° a “cool-down”) and knowing that fall is approaching, I’m already gearing up and getting ready for whatever’s next.
And these two tracks personify my mindstate…at least on Monday & Tuesday they did. Kuntry’s drawl over the creeping guitar “I’m a rockstar” beat. It instantly makes you want to lean your seat back and ride with a cool but determined ambition. And B.G is the quintessential comeback kid in this rap shit, holding his own with Mr. 17.5.
As tired as I already am this week though, Wednesday’s theme song may be The Roots’ “Lazy Afternoon.”
To followup, the answer for TSS x Google Raps! Vol. 2 has been posted and a winner has been contacted. Thanks to all who participated, especially the one individual who sent in those 2 Live Crew lyrics that gave me a good ass laugh.

First!
I don’t know about rappers entourages starting to rap. Whats wrong with jusyt sitting back living off your boys shine. It might sound bad but whats worse, Riding coat tails or opening up your mouth and sounding dumb. There has only been one person I can think of off the top of my head right now that lived up to being out of his mentors shadow and that is Big Pun. everyone else has tried and failed. Lets just hope they aren’t as bad as Dragon from Ruff Riders.
Lifelong friend and former Fugees partner Pras is talking some more about Lauryn Hill’s many problems.
In an interview with AJ’s Playhouse on 93.3 FM in San Diego on Friday morning, Pras told the radio show that Lauryn Hill is mentaly ill.
He says, “Lauryn Hill is like to me the greatest artist in the last 25 or 30 years, but – still – if you mentaly ill, you mentally ill. I’m not no expert, but based on my profesional opinion, she needs medication. I think it’s bipolar. The thing is, when you’re around someone like that that you love and grew up with, you don’t wanna believe that kind of behavior really exists. It seems so unreal.”

After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger

The Notorious B.I.G. – Life After Death: the Movie – 2007
Studio: Spire Candidate
DVD Release Date: 3rd July, 2007
Run Time: 1:03:51
summary:
Notorious BIG introduces his FAMILY [childhood friends] from Bedstuy, Brooklyn as Junior MAFIA [Lil Kim, Lil Cease, Banger] with their debut album “CONSPIRACY” – BIG’s best man, Damion Butler a/k/a D-ROC is the unorthodox manager. Suif Jackson a/k/a C-GUTTA is their confidant.
BIG’s murder in 1997 leaves D-ROC to manage Kim, Cease and JM — the crew live, work and travel the world together as Kim becomes the breadwinner. TEN YEARS LATER, [Kim, D-Roc, Gutta] find themselves co-defendants in a federal indictment over a 2001 shootout at NYC’S HOT 97 radio [resulting from Kim's rival w/ rap nemesis FOXY BROWN.]
Despite only grainy video surveillence tape and NO WEAPONS found, [Kim, D-Roc, Gutta] are sent to prison as Cease and Banger testify against them for the Prosecution. Fact or fiction? Friend or foe?
This is the FACTUAL “story behind the story” of FAMILY, LIES and BETRAYAL told by the most explosive “NEVER-SEEN” archive footage in New York hip hop history — FOOTAGE THAT WAS LOST DURING THE TRIAL, WILL FINALLY BE EXPOSED TO THE PUBLIC AND THE SHOCKING TRUTH WILL FINALLY BE REVEALED!!!
