10 new installments Of R. Kelly’s “Trapped In The Closet” hit stores Aug. 21…and jury selection for his trial started yesterday. I’ll just leave that alone.
BGDBoom interviewed frequent Phonte collaborator Nicolay.
Loud.com Semifinalists Announced and you can check out the “Semifinalists” Press Release.
François Girbaud apparently doesn’t want you rockin his jeans. I was gonna make a Tommy Hilfiger reference or say something slick like only dudes from the NO still rock them shits…but who truthfully cares?
Rizoh recommends that you remove whatever’s in your system right now and replace it with C-Rayz Walz and Sharkey’s Monster Maker. Rizoh’s a budding genius so I’ll give it a shot.
So you’re a producer, eh? VH1 is looking for you with their online contest “The Score.” From July 23 through August 20, contestants can post their 60-second beats for consideration at http://hiphop.vh1.com. See site for official rules and guidelines. And let’s just say this now, VH1 > all the other “music channels” these days.

When is he going to drop a new cd?
damn, snoop straight shittin on brigitte nielsen
lol
Forget R. Kelly.
And don’t think I ever rocked Girbaud’s jeans and slacks. That was something the gay dudes rocked.
What the hell did we do before the Smoking Section?
I liked the first 5 Trapped in the Closets after that Rooooooosie the Noisy Neighbor shit I stopped.
can someone reup the parliament or send the links in a non-usercash version? my job blocks usercash…..and I need the parliament bad.
All I need to know is the links. Good looking out
Anyone else finding the tracklists on the Outkast albums to be completely cluttered? I decompress “part 1″ and “part 2″ and I just get the 2nd album of the mix. Am I missing something here?
Thanks for the Sauce Money post. I tried to get that mixtape back in 02 but my friendly neighborhood bootlegger had an extended visit to make with the County lockup facilities.
Sauce Money is one of those rappers that I’ve never figured out – he has all the resources and doesn’t use them. Man I wish Team Roc would have really happened. I even like all the old Jay-Z and Sauce Money records like “Pass The Rock” & “Broken Englist”.
^Sauce must be getting money some other way. He never seemed serious about rapping.
Sauce ghostwrites I think.
Thanks C-One for unmasking those links for the other homie.
Yea Sauce done some ghostwriting. “Pre-Game” is my shit.
Haha…I was just talking about Girbauds yesterday. I rocked those shits in, like, 90, 91, but I live in a city where niggas have style. This was also during Bush Sr. administration. There’s no way Girbauds should be relevant now, which is probably the reason that frog-eating m.f. is talking out about hip-hop. Like dude’s really walking through the projects. If that was the case, we’d be seeing nothing but XXXL white t-shirts on the runways.
Rico Tizio, however…that’s the shit to check for. Remember the name.
^ cats in the NO been rockin Girbaud faithfully since the late 80s/early 90s for sure. They’ve come & gone in peaks in the South.
But when designers diss their consumers, it baffles me. I don’t care who supports my desings & ideas, as long as they’re supprting it, buying it & not doing anything over-detrimental.
Word…that gear was moderately expensive, but nothing crazy that would break your bank (which is probably why a lot of colored folk had access).
Plus, Southern cats will hang onto a style for years if they think it looks good. Cats up north let shit go once they see somebody in a video wearing something else.
Still, not good business sense from Girbaud. And in NOLA? The thought of him walking through the Desire or St. Bernard Projects is ridiculous.
Someone find “The Clock” from Idlewild…
@ Complex One – Good looking out homie!!!!! I’ve been trying to find Osmium FOREVER. I owe you one….maybe I can return the favor one day.
@ Gotty – nothing in particular….just wanted to shout you out for giving me something to do everyday when work sucks. Thank God for TSS
I used to rock girbauds in mad flavors in the early 90′s. Especially the Skinny cowboys with the pocket on the side and the matching jacket. Tag in the middle. Shorts, sweat shirts, then they fell off to me with all those straps. I’m on my Phat Farm shit now. shits maaad cheap at TJ Maxx.
Oh, please reup that outkast. This is 9th on the beats right? I’m waiting on the ‘respect my fresh’ sweat shirts/hoodies to come out. Still coppin a tee though.
Yo TSS, I figured out the link situation. Thanks, though.
Word to that Parliament re-up.
Anyhow, I’d be type surprised if I saw niggas in the hood still rockin Girbaud.
And Rico Tizio? LOL.
*flashbacks to Just Blaze Fight Night videos on YouTube*
lol at david banner’s album title….that must have Saigon heated….oh well, if you would’ve put ya album out on time you wouldn’t have to worry
I’M SORRY, BUT IF RIZOH DOESN’T LIKE THE TURF TALK ALBUM, I’M NOT LIKELY TO FOLLOW ANY OF HIS LEADS.
I LOVE THAT ALBUM.
YA TRIPPIN, MAN.
