I watch SportsCenter every single day – no matter where I am at in the world (U.S.) – and I still cannot figure out if they have ever stated that they have evidence that Michael Vick was ever there (physically) during the fights.
Sure it’s his house, but it’s the same with Lindsay – you know in both cases (literally speaking) that the blame is going to go to someone else. Vick won’t be the one who was having the fights – he will have no knowledge of them. His attorney will say that he’s traveling during the season and residing somewhere else so, should he be found at fault?
And Lindsay, while it was her car, she had no idea that the white stuff was there – it will be someone else’s – and they will even cop to it.
An easy way out if you have the right attorneys.
I hope Vick doesn’t see jail time

As selfish as it may be, I am a huge football fan – football is my favorite pro sport to watch. That said; Michael Vick brings an excitement to a game that is rare. There are only a handful of players that you can watch who are electrifying and are guaranteed to blow your mind during the course of a game. Vick is one of them.
I look forward to football season and so if Vick isn’t playing, which is the word as of yesterday (the experts are saying Joey Harrington will start – Joey “I am terrible at the QB position” Harrington), I am going to be more than disappointed. While Vick may or may not win it all one day, the man is a freak of nature as a player.
And I for one like to watch players who put on an amazing show. Roger Goodell is an idiot. Suspend Pacman – as good as he is, I can go a season missing his presence on the field – they still have Vince Young. But someone like Vick who can pack a stadium? Who wants to watch all of the Falcon games that will inevitably air if the player that you tune into the game to watch isn’t playing?
Goodell is going to ruin the NFL with his power trips.

As an owner of a pitbull, one of the best dog breeds in the world when cared for appropriately, i found this distrubing. I understand that he was putting them out of their misery, ala horses after a race, but the way he did it is disgusting. Hanging them, electricuting them, slamming them to the ground to kill them. C’mon dude, where’s your heart?
And, i’ve heard from people who knpw people fight dogs, and they told him like 3 years ago Vick was huge into this shit.

And in my opinion, he deserves everything he gets.
Pit Bulls are the only breed that I have ever owned – none of them have ever been vicious – not once. But I have known many that have fought them. I rescued the one that I have now from such an environment.
I am against it (dog fighting), but I do not know Michael Vick or the situation. So I cannot speak on it or pass judgment without it being pure speculation or guessing on my part.
My main beef is with Roger Goodell. If the likes of Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson, Reggie Bush, Chad Johnson, etc. were to get into trouble with the law, then he may just single-handedly destroy an entire league.
No one wants to watch players who are average – or even above average. My main thing is letting the law step in, then doing whatever you deem necessary. Pacman and Vick (I am assuming if everything is true) are knuckleheads. But Vick AND Goodell just cost the Falcons and the NFL a whole lot of money – which is why Arthur Blank didn’t flinch. Vick IS the Falcons (Warrick Dunn is incredible too though).
The league is about money. Take away its stars and you are left with a game that no one is willing to watch.

Stop blaming Roger Goodell for doing his job. The league is full of players running afoul of the law and has been for years. Shit needs to stop. These are grown-ass men…they don’t need to be treated like babies. If you were man enough to be involved in dog-fighting in any way (Vick), or have a shotgun on a dresser in the same house your kids live in (Tank), or repeatedly do stupid shit (Pacman), then man up and take your punishment. Goodell keeping Vick away from training camp is the least of his worries. That shit would be a circus. If anything, he’s doing a favor to both Vick and the Falcons team.
As for stars, there are plenty of them to go around. And people will still watch football.

As a fan of the game (only), I will, without apology, state that I will miss watching Falcon games.
And every league only has so many “top of the ladder” players. You can probably name only 10 who are just phenomenal in the NBA, and how many are truly electrifying to watch in the NFL? How many RB’s? How about QB’s? WR’s? That Deion, Rice, Sanders, Walter, type of talent is rare.
And you cannot tell me that Goodell’s policy is a shakeup to say the least. I’ve been around for a while now and to see players get suspended for an entire season, warranted or not, of course it’s going to be shocking…

Goodell’s policy is a shakeup, but it’s a welcome one. I likes to keep it as gully as the next cat, but at some point, this shit has to stop…and this is just the news we’re hearing about. Trust me, there’s a lot more going on than what comes to the surface.

I used to work in sports journalism, and found the shit sickening – still do, actually – because you have almost nothing but white fans and writers sitting around and passing judgement on black players without knowing anything about who they really are or where they came from. Sorry to set myself apart from the Mike Vick discussion for a moment, but I wanna make sure I send out some props for the TQ track as well as the G-Rap. I’ve always been a fan of TQ, and on the real tip, its almost as if he can’t mess up on a track. He’s almost got that “Nate Dogg-ness” swagger about him. It may also be that I rarely get to hear anything from him, and when I do hear something, the satisfaction I get from hearing a lesser known artist with an extreme amount of talent sort of blinds any fault that may accompany him. So, with that being said, props.
Dammit, I was going to try and leave on that note, but damn if I can’t state my opinion on the whole Mr. Vick situation. Say what you say about the man. He may never be a great NFL QB, he’ll never be a great passer, he’ll never win. Say what you will, but the man does one thing better than most NFL QB’s. Nope, not his running ability, although he does run his ass off. The man puts asses in the seats. Even if the Falcons don’t win a game this season, I know that when I watch Sportcenter on Monday morning, Mike Vick WILL be there. Now combine the fact that he is electrifying with the fact that he does happen to win a game or two. I think they won 8 games the last two years. Which still isnt good but better than what Joey Harrington will do. He may not be what Atlanta needs, but he’s the only thing they’ve got! Michael will keep asses in seats, eyes on tv’s, jersey’s on backs, and for the time being, Atlanta relevant. So far they havnt proven shit, so let the dude play. The way I understood it the dogs were executed for lack of performance not to put them out of their misery. Usually when people call someone “scum of the earth” it is overblown but not in Vick’s case.
With Vick, the crooked NBA ref, and the other recent pro sports scandals going on I’m glad pro sports are taking a big PR hit – they have gotten waaaaay out of control. The salaries go up every year, tickets go up, $30 here in SF just to park at a game yet I don’t see anyone else in the city getting pay raises let alone jobs and all the while the players are making so much money they could care less if they win or lose. I can count on my hand the combined number of players in the NBA, MLB, and NFL that actually care if they win or lose and can consistently play at a high level. Ten years ago things were out of hand now its past the point of fixing. Its getting harder and harder to get into a game and go nuts for a team win or lose when the players don’t care either way.
